It has some supplies. And decent prices, but the stark white bare walls and fluorescent lighting give Micheals a warehouse vibe.
Go there if you know what you want for supplies, not if you are looking to be creativity-inspired.

They have what I want but when I ask for very clear help from the cashiers they just ignore what I ask them. I had to do multi-payments because I’m trying to get rid of some gift cards I received and I knew I couldn’t do split payments on the self-checkout machines but the lady guided me to one anyways when I told her I’d rather just wait for the attendant manning the regular check out. She said she didn’t know if it would work and for me to just try it anyways. I’m holding way too much stuff and when it didn’t work I had to go to the cashier like I told her I would. When I went to the regular cashier she seemed very bothered and pre-occupied with other things and wasn’t listening to me either. I told her the exact totals on my cards and she ignored me and told me to pay. After 3 attempts to check out I told her again that I needed split payments and then she finally listened and I checked out with my items. It was just really irritating that no one was listening to me. I understand that doing split payments is long and annoying but cmon.

The worst customer service and communication I have ever experienced anywhere. Trying to get through to anyone by phone to check status is impossible. Just kept ringing then said "goodbye" and hung up. when id di reach someone the next day their phone system was of such poor quality that I could hardly understand the person and she complained that my volume was low. Won't be going back for anything.

Went in today to buy beads, we asked two different sales people for help and waited 15 min. Nobody came to help, was a waste of time. Won't be coming back!

I was so excited to have my daughter's birthday party here. While my daughter had a good time cz she loves arts and crafts and doesn't care as long as she has some supplies, the party and Staff seemed disorganized and not too friendly.
Party space was good but it seemed like we were just given a space w/party supplies for kids to manage it all on their own. There was no direction given to the kids. They were just handed the tshirts, rocks, & canvas to do whatever they wanted. It would've been nice to guide the kids on how to do something specific. If everyone was given directions for dot painting, or some styke of art, or have it more streamlined it would be good. Kids were walking around just doing their own thing.
Also, 45 mins into the activities i noticed my kids clothes getting dirty and i realized they had aprons which were never offered. I then asked for them and was told "sure u can use them if u want". The activity started without aprons and there was no intention of using the aprons if i didnt ask.
Face painting was terrible. It was just not neat and well done. And i was shocked to see the staff painted my daughter's lips like lipstick with facepaint. That was chemicals on her lips which went in her mouth while eating her food!
There was only 1 table provided, told us other table is in use in the store. Not enough space to lay the food. We had to bring our own extra folding table.
No microwave to warm up food which we knew beforehand. Would be nice to provide one since there is no proper kitchen space.
Website stated utensils provided which they were but we assumed knife (which is also a utensil) would also be included for cake cutting. When asked for one staff didnt just say they dont have it but the employee was rude about it. My daughter had to cut the cake with a fork.
Due to it all being disorganized and us having to direct kids to wrap up, wash hands, eat food, and guide them for it all.. we went 15 mins over our 2 hour time limit. The manager came to talk to us. It wasnt a gentle reminder about the time. It was a rude reminder and also when she knew we were already packing up. My husband and friends were packing and loading the car at this time. We were out 3 minutes after that.
I even voiced my concern about how everything went, she had nothing to say.
And she only came and chatted with us when we went over the time. Would've been nice if she had checked in once in the middle with us to see how everything is going or if we needed anything.
Overall michaels and management can take this feedback and make MANY improvements. These are all simple and small things that would make a huge impact on the experience. I won't recommend this location. My guess is other locations HOPEFULLY have a better experience to offer. It comes down to the staff, and the organization and effort. I'm just glad my 7 year old daughter didn't notice this all and had a good time regardless.
I'd pay $250 for something like this. City or surrey has space for 24 people for $280 and much more organized. They didn't have a date unfortunately for me. I paid $450 for 12 kids limit at michaels. Basically for space and party supplies and some clean up.
