They cancelled an important appointment without notice. I booked an appointment two months in advance. We were in the vehicle about to drive to the appointment when I received a call that our appointment was double booked. The person offered to send the contract to my phone for signing instead of the 1.5 hour appointment I had booked. How are you going to send a contract when the options have not been discussed? And how do we read a contract on a 5.5inch phone screen?
We set aside this day for two months, and they cancelled 30 minutes before the appointment. Very disappointed.

Generally speaking, the Mill Bay Island Savings has been and is a great place to do banking and insurance. Unfortunately there is one staff member in the insurance area that really disappointed us. She came across as unfriendly and not really interested in helping people.

I have never had a problem at the branch itself but want to be able to call the branch direct. With the 1-888 number it takes forever to get someone on the line. When I did get someone on the line she was very helpful and we were able to deal with things over the phone instead of having to go in.

Always courteous friendly and patient with me. So convenient. Staff seem happy so I always think that reflects on management and how well they treat and pay their staff so that is important to me.

I am sitting on hold and have been for over half an hour, waiting for someone at their call centre to answer. That is because the local number has been phased out so I can not ask the locals if the coin counter has been repaired yet. So I am listening to truly irritating hold music and a lot of ads, interspersed with suggestions that I might want to encourage my friends to deal with ISCU. Ain't gonna happen. Since the First West takeover the service has been declining but it has reached a new low. All of the experienced staff has been replaced by untrained inexperienced people. And now we can't even contact the branch directly. What a joke!

Island Savings has drastically gone down hill. They're frequently closed despite their hours listing them as opened. On top of that the new automated phone system is incredibly annoying instead of just calling your branch like you could in the past.
The nice local features that made them good are gone and now they just offer a worse version of bigger banks.
Got to laugh at earlier reviews praising their lack of automated phone system.

Banks have always made me nervous/uneasy but finding a credit union that makes me feel like family has eased that anxiety for me. Low monthly fees and no overage charges are what brought me in but the staff is why I don't hesitate to go back.

I've been a happy customer for twelve years, but their service has become extremely poor since the takeover. I have come very close to ending my relationship with this credit union who is behaving more and more like a commercial bank.
I'm writing this because I cannot even reach them during opening hours ("currently closed" at 9:32 am) and have often not been called back. Voicemail is NOT customer service.

I switched from one of the Big 5 Banks and won't ever look back. Island Savings Customer service is top notch especially Mill Bay Branch. I always feel like an appreciated customer.
