“Thank you 'Colten in automotive'!!! You saved our bacon in such a profound way. You don't understand, I've had a four-decade poor opinion of CT automotive from all over Western Canada.

Thank you also to the guy 'name unknown' whom cleaned up my oil spill in the parking lot, your understanding and pleasantness was unexpected.

My review is a story of a very bad day and potentially $1000's in damage.

The empathy, temperament and willingness to be solution minded caught me off guard.

You see:
I was on a day long motorcycle ride when I noticed it wasn't running well, assumed low oil pressure but it was much, much worse.

Being unfamiliar with the region, Straight to a Canadian Tire to check my oil and buy a litre, CT usually has a good selection and good prices.

BUT NO! Someone had tampered with my bike, absolutely filled crank case to the top with litres of additional fluid that was oil soluble. So much so that it gushed out under pressure as I tried to check level! Stranded, limited options, late in the day!

I learned that Canadian Tire has a very strict policy of no work on motorcycles,

'COLTEN' in Automotive was beyond empathetic! This guy quite literally saved me and my riding partner from not only being stranded the rest of the evening but costing hundreds in tow or risking riding home with crossed fingers.

You need to understand, though I am a regular CT customer I have had a enough bad experiences in CT automotive over the past 40 years, I never use them, EVER.

Also 40+ years doing virtually all my own repairs/maintenance. Engine builds, everything.

Here enters Colten!
The solution, though simply just 'loaning a wrench, tub and funnel and allowing me to engine flush these contaminants in the parking lot and disposing of it for me...

The outcome probably saved my motorbike and drove it home.

His solution, literally changing a gearhead's lifetime of mistrust of CT automotive.

In the modern retail world, where needing assistance from staff is often futile, I was left impressed and lack the vocabulary to describe how impressed I was in all 4 staff I interacted with that day.

Obviously management 'here' has made better than average hiring choices and nurtured better than average employee atmosphere. Not just CT but retail in general. Thank you all.

It's easy to lose a customer for life, how often do you get a chance to repair trust and win them back? Rare.

PS: engine seems fine, transmission seem to be back to normal, clutch may have excessively worn but after sight adjustment, returned to normal feel after a few days.
