Situated at the foot of Nanaimo Harbour. Lots of amenities in the surrounding area when waiting for the ferry to Gabriola Island. Since we can’t reserve tickets, it’s best to show up early and buy your tickets. If you get there too early, Port Place is a good place to spend some time. With plenty of free parking and lots of food places to visit. Dollarama is a favorite since I can pick up cheap snacks and drinks for the ferry ride. There seems to be a bus loop nearby which offers extra convenience for those that do not drive an automobile.

It is also a mall. A lot of transient people. Safety is a concern if you visit.

This is an interesting place. It is in the downtown core and not always the safest place. There are a number of stores, restaurants, and services here. There is a great selection. The casino is also in the same plaza. I would recommend staying away from the parking structure. At night, stay in the lit areas. Nanaimo is not as safe as it used to be. Still a great mall and one that I frequent regularly. Security tries but there is only so much they can do and the police do nothing

Too many homeless people hang out here. Too many stabbings here.Still a fair amount of homeless people that hang out in and around this mall. It's a sad that the government won't do more to help.Update Feb 5-24: I rarely visit this mall except when necessary, however it seems to have improved recently in terms of homeless people hanging around. I'm seeing more security personnel so that may be the solution.

Great basic mall. It has everything you need! Lots of homeless and drug users. Kinda sad really. Biggest complaint is no chairs for the clinic that you have to arrive an hour early to see a doctor. Moms and children sitting on the ge floor.

Not many stores here. B.C. Liquor, Thrifty's & separate flower shop, B.C. Lotto kiosk, London Drugs, a C.I.B.C. and walk-in clinic comprise the businesses inside the mall. Outside there's a Subway, pizza joint, Bar Burrito, Noodle Box, a family restaurant (I believe), Starbucks, Telus store, Life labs, Dollarama and the casino across the parking lot of course. My apologies if I have overlooked any business(es) but this is definitely a fairly comprehensive list.

Went to Thrithtys for our turkey. The lady at the meat department was very helpful. And as always a pleasure to go and shop there.

Lots of homeless always hanging around. Limited amount of shops available. For instance, there is no clothing stores. Grocery. pharmacy, bank, dollar store and some restaurants.

It's a nice little mall. The main medical clinic is there, and that gets extremely busy.Thrifty foods is generally more expensive than anywhere else, but it has good produce.London Drugs is good.Liquor store has good prices.Dollar store has a big selection.Barburito has great portions for decent prices.Wendy's is sketchy and I wouldn't trust the sanitary conditions with food prep.Often unhoused people can congregate here.
