“Neighborhood grocery store on Pender Island. Produce, fresh meats, dairy, and baked goods are plentiful. The deli is no longer offering counter service ; the only reason I can’t give a 5 star review. But there are prepackaged deli meats, specialty bake at home pizzas, fresh coffee, and a small space to sit and enjoy your snack. Prices are a bit higher than the mainland and Vancouver Island, but they can save you the trip if you’re looking for convenience. Don’t forget to designate your 1% of your bill to your favourite local non profit. Tru Value has a great reputation of giving back to the community. Truly a valued business on this enchanted island on the Salish Sea.”
“First time visited Mayne Island and came across this fantastic store! Great selection of organic and whole foods, super cute, very welcoming and pleasant service. And sandwiches to die for! Also the coziest seating area in the front. Came here 3 times during my stay”
“I love this grocery store! It’s always been cute but the last few times I’ve visited the island the selection of organic produce has been amazing. The last time I was in they’d opened a cafe in the back. I couldn’t resist the sardines on toast. I don’t know what’s been going on here lately but I love it and can’t wait to visit the next time I’m on the island.”
“Needed an air compressor to top up a tyre that was running low. Couldn’t immediately see one, but asked inside and the staff member gave us a nozzle to use one around the back. Free-of-charge, which is unheard of where I’m from!”
“Good selection of wine and beer. They have drum tabacco and papers. Everything you need to make a great pasta dinner from sauce to garlic, peppers and Italian sausage or a big dish of perogies. They also carry Ben and Jerry's icecream. Staff were very friendly.”
