Liquor Stores in Penticton, BC

“I live in Birmingham England and I ordered a bottle of tequila with a call to the liquor store for a friend in Penticton BC. The bottle was delivered the same day at 9.30pm BC time.Very friendly and helpful people. I extremely pleased with the transaction and recommend them.”

“I forgot a book here one time, and these guys held on to it for 3 months until I was back in. You'll note 99% of the complaints are about stock levels, and there's one that says they need to be investigated by the government because.... they were closed for a while and it wasn't clear what was happening with the property?

If the issues people have with you are that you can't keep the shelves full enough to have everything, and you aren't open... then are the issues really with you?

I think the people running this are good people. I think they are ethical people (only liquor store to ever tell me no when I am plainly drunk off my ass and still trying to buy). I think they care about our community and want to support it (I know for a fact they shop local for many things, and they, more than most companies ).

I think you could probably say that about a lot of liquor stores, but *I* can't. I can only talk about my experiences. Thusly, I recommend here. If they don't have what you want, there's another store two blocks away that might. But I'd *rather* give these guys my money, so personally, I'll always check here first.”

“Large store with a huge selection. Generally speaking, the BCL is the cheapest, but nothing with alcohol is cheap in BC. Some municipalities have private liquor stores that meet and sometimes beat the BCL price, but this is rare..”

“Rebrand for Co-op but still head and shoulders above the garbage stocked by BCLDB who are on strike once again. Do yourself a favor when in Penticton and shop here and avoid the ridiculous government store who still pushes CIC garbage (Coppermoon et al) in boxes as you walk into the store in the gateway to the South Okanagan.”

“I first came into this store in 2002 and while I lived Downtown, it was always my go-to store.
Not only are the owners absolutely wonderful, unpretentious people, they really go the extra mile in accommodating you.
From 2007 - 2023, I was forced to live up in the hills, and because of really bad botched eye surgeries, I can no longer drive.
So for 16 years I didn't come here.
When I moved back downtown 3 years ago, I was shocked that the wife remembered me after 16 years - and both her and her husband looked like they haven't aged a day! :)

Their store is incredible. What really gets me is their fridges which sell coolers individually! So, if you buy a party pack of 12, and you don't care for a particular flavor, you can just stock up on that which you DO like! I can't think of anyone else who does this!

Seeing them again, was like seeing old friends. Their service is top notch and it is always a pleasure to frequent the Gables when I'm in the area!

And - they deliver!!!! Which for people like me who can't drive is an extra bonus!
