182 Granby Avenue, PentictonI can't say enough good things about Briana at Hair of the Dog Grooming! She truly went above and beyond for us. Although she doesn’t normally groom large dogs, she did me a huge favour—and I’m so grateful she did.
I was indecisive about how I wanted them groomed, but she listened carefully, asked all the right questions, and made sure I felt confident and comfortable with the plan before getting started. I really appreciated how much she cared about getting it just right.
One of my goldens can be a little skittish, but Briana’s calm, gentle approach won her over. It was clear she was patient and understanding every step of the way. Both dogs came home not only looking amazing but also clearly having had a great experience.
Briana is a gem!

We did a tasting and Julie was absolutely fantastic, so genuinely lovely and knowledgeable about all their wines. The views are also amazing but the tasting would have been fantastic even without the views- they were the cherry on top

2460 Skaha Lake Road, PentictonHad a great experience at Barley Mill Brew Pub! I ordered the Barley Burger, and it was absolutely delicious. The burger was flavourful and satisfying, and the fries were delicious as well and paired perfectly with it.
The service was great—friendly and attentive—and our food came out very quickly. Everything was fresh and we didn’t have to wait long at all.
Overall, delicious food, great service, and a very enjoyable experience. I’d definitely come back and highly recommend trying the Barley Burger!

BC SPCA South Okanagan/Similkameen
2200 Dartmouth Dr, PentictonMy sweet boy Richie (Adopted under the name Quiche) came home just under a month ago. He settled into his new home so quickly, his personality exploded and every minute with this little angel has been a blessing!
I am so grateful to the dedicated staff at the SPCA here in Penticton for making every effort to communicate Richie's medical and enrichment needs before I took him home, as well as informing me of every possibility that may come up with the ownership of a cat with FeLV.
I spent nearly 5 hours in his adoption room just getting to know him and letting him get comfortable with me, and I cannot express how grateful I am for the extra time to bond with him before our drive home, I think it truly helped destress the whole situation and made him feel so much safer in a new space with me!
The staff provided all relevant medical records in a super convenient little folder for me to take to Richie's first checkup which was really awesome for me as a new pet owner who wasn't super confident in the kind of paperwork I would need, and the added 6 weeks of petsecure insurance that comes with every adoption is a huge weight off your shoulders in the muddy first couple weeks home when truly anything can happen, as well as an influence to consider long-term protection for your furry friend!
Staff were great with answering any questions I had about Richie's temperment, likes and dislikes, daily routine and diet to ensure a smooth transition into his new home and this was the hugest help in understanding some of his behaviours and daily needs as we settled together!
On top of my personal experience with every member of staff being so lovely, during my time there I also witnessed several other interactions with community members whether they be there to donate, adopt, or seeking resources for their own pets at home, and I can confidently say that everybody else in the community felt the warmth from staff on this day! Smiles all around, and so great to see! Special props to the older fellow who came in closer to close with a huge box of tennis balls 🤩 You are one cool dude 🙌
Finally, on my way out, I was given some extra catit creamy treats for Richie's trip, and, rest assured, they were much appreciated by both of us 😅 I was told I could call anytime if I needed anything at all and have truly felt supported and appreciated by this organization for long before I took Richie home. Massive props to the staff and supporters of the South Okanagan/Similkameen Location and huge thanks to your help in beginning this chapter for me and Richie ❤
Edit: If you were working on Wednesday, June 17th, You all have my greatest enthusiastic appreciation and I can only hope that you know how wonderful you all are! It was amazing chatting with you all and hearing about the other animals in your care, props to y'all for your incredible service, and for handling the ceiling-vent escape artist with gentle grace, composure and a good attitude! 😅 Love to all of you ❤
