Rude staff, disappointing experience
I usually like their in-store selection, but the staff here really ruined it for me. The blonde older lady at the cashier had such a bad attitude. We wanted to buy a gift card, but no one was at the counter, so we went to the self-checkout. After scanning the card, the machine asked us to call for staff.
When she came over, she immediately went, “Why did you scan it? You shouldn’t use the self-checkout!!!!! it won’t work!!!!! ,” and kept repeating it in a rude, aggressive tone. Like, we were just trying to pay?
She did eventually calm down and helped us at the till, but honestly, her attitude was unprofessional. She even seemed snappy toward other Dollarama staff. Really disappointing customer service.

Overall store is pretty organized and clean. It’s nice the store has security as well.
Heavier set cashier lady with the pink dyed hair should get a new job though. Every time I come to the store, this cashier has horrible attitude, refuses to help, yells at old and says she’s cannot help anyone at the cash register. Then what are you there for? Are you ever happy? Yikes.

Horrible staff. An elderly staff member had accused me of cutting the self check out queue when there wasn’t one. She was assisting another customer at the furthest check out towards the wall and had left her till unattended to grab an item, and I went to the empty till to her left. As I was finishing up, she yelled, “excuse me, ma’am! You shouldn’t be here you cut in line because these people were here before you”. Confused, I told her that I went to the empty queue and she may have been mistaken as I was already here when she was assisting the other customers. She doubled down, thinking that I was in the wrong and commented that I didn’t wait my turn. I reconfirmed the staff member that she was truly mistaken because I had already approached the empty till while she was at the one beside me. Instead of acknowledging and apologizing, she waved her hand at me and told me I was free to go. What do you mean I was free to go? You wanted to hold me hostage because you thought I cut the queue? I told her that if she didn’t want anyone else taking the queue she could have easily put a closed sign to reserve it but she didn’t. I also told her to watch the cameras once more, or even retrace her steps before she false accuses their customers.

2025.08.18 It's a great place to shop for cheap goods, especially when shopping for a new place to live. Diet Pepsi 1 liter size, snacks of various kinds, Dawn foam spray, dish drain board, hangers, clocks, cutting boards, stainless cutlery, cookware. Start here to find inexpensive things that are needed. Then work your way up towards more expensive items elsewhere. It's a good way to economize with things that you don't have to pay more for.
I didn't think about a bamboo cutting board till I saw them, away from a plastic cutting board, what a great idea. Consider buying the company's stock, not just the goods in their stores.

Bought a battery powered tea light candle from here. Adds a nice, warming light, especially during a power outage. Have had it for years and still didn’t need to replace the battery! A lovely addition infront of the Immaculate Conception 🕯️

This was my first time visit there and I was using the self checkout I clicked the using my own bag and it says I need a help. I looked at the staff saying I want to use my bag. She looked annoyed at saying put down my bag without any explanation. I just wanted to use my reusable bag I said nicely and the staff right next to my self checkout the exact same lady kept saying I cannot use my bag because I have a book in my bag sounds like super annoyed. Isn’t that why they are there to confirm so that I can put my bag in bagging area and use it? She just had to login and confirm that I am using my own bag.
Safe on food and Walmart, I had never have a problem.
Is she racist? She says hello with smile to all white people there and told me to put down my bag on the ground with rude tone. She has pink colour hair and heavy makeup white lady.
I just needed an explanation why I cannot use my bag, and if the reason is because of the book in there she could’ve just explained to me nicely.

It was my first time using the self checkout, so I struggled a little. This worker guy did help me out, but his attitude was a little rude and sounded sarcastic, which made me feel like he was disgusted of me. I understand if he was feeling tired or some other personal matter, but I'd appreciate if the workers had a more positive attitude towards rhe customers.

Was checking out at Dollarama on Sunday Feb 16th at 1:40 PM had a worker in blonde pink dyed hair and pink boots around 50-60 yr old very rude towards all self checkout customers who needed help. She was complaining to her coworker at the cashier about the selfcheck out then turns around then took it out on my group for unable to back up to “make a line” after we couldnt back up because people behind us also really close to us couldnt back up?? Instead of helping the self checkout customers had to lash out on us about making a line up when clearly visible unable to back up.

The lady cashier at self check out today, Tuesday at 10am was very rude! She should not work in a retail store!
Me and my daughter bought lots of things for her school and we used the self check out. We followed what the til machine instructions to put the bag on the right side and needs a confirmation of course from the staff. We waited until she finished her assistance with the other customer. And to our surprised when she went to us she was very irritated and a little high tone of a voice and scold us to remove our bag immediately. We did and I asked her, are you mad??? You don't need to be rude to assist us. We were very disappointed with this lady staff because it's not even busy and you just open the store and she was soo rude early in the morning! Id rather buy in other store that has a nice and accommodating staff than to encounter this girl with attitude!

Absolutely horrible. The store was supposed to be open till 9pm, but when we got there at 8:10pm it was closed. There was even a sign showing that it would be open till 9pm, yet they had locked the doors and the staff was just chilling. The staff were just pretending to not see us after I waved at them and continued just chilling and cleaning up. Felt like they just wanted to go home early or something.
We drove all the way there with the expectation that it was going to be open and wasted our time and gas.
