Used academy movers this past week for a very simple move. Was pretty excited and thought I was getting a pretty good deal when I received email contamination from the company. The emails were extremely misleading when I was given a quote. I agreed to what was quoted only to realize that they were very sneaky in the wording of their email. Moving day came, 2 guys for a simple 1 bedroom basement that was already mostly empty before they came. They did show up on time, and the movers were friendly and efficient. When it came to paying, after just over 2 hours of time, was given a much larger total then my understanding from the email, my partner understood it the same way as me. Was shocked to say the least when it came to pay time. Not the movers fault by any means and they told me this happens a lot when the move is all done. Re-word your emails when quoting the pricing to people. Feel very taken advantage of and will definitely not be using this company again and will never recommend them. Which is a shame, cause I love the cause behind it. Horrible experience and feel very frustrated when this was supposed to be a very happy, stress-free move for me.

Set up a move on Aug 6th for Aug 29th and called today to confirm and was told they have no truck available! If I hadn’t phoned I wouldn’t have known! Don’t rely on this company!

I’ve never had such a stressful and unprofessional experience with a moving company.
They were 9.5 hours late on moving day, with no proactive communication. I had to keep calling for updates, only to be met with vague excuses and no real answers. It completely threw off my plans and caused an immense amount of stress.
When they finally arrived, they worked carelessly and damaged several pieces of furniture. I’ve followed up multiple times, but they’ve completely ghosted me. No offer to resolve anything, and no response to my messages.
This level of service is unacceptable. I understand things can go wrong, but how a company handles issues says everything. In this case, they’ve made it clear they have no interest in accountability. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.

do not use them for moving! truly horrible experience using them with a simple one bedroom apartment move - arrived late, careless and broke multiple items and took 8+ hours for an agreement move 5 mins apart!

Helpful movers who provided great service and value for the cost. Moved from a home to a condo and the movers were efficient in there work and made the process as stress free as possible. Would recommend to others.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! My family was lucky enough to be able to work with James, Aiden, Dante, Megan and 2 other lovely ladies who I unfortunately did not get the names of. Everyone from Academy Movers was so incredibly friendly, professional, energetic, kind, courteous, hard working and so very efficient. Throughout the move they were so thorough making sure they took absolutely everything that we needed moved and then while unpacking, if there was ever a question about where something was supposed to go they always asked and kindly took it to where it needed to be. All of our large photos, glass table tops and fragile items were wrapped very well in blankets and plastic wrap to ensure nothing was damaged. All of our larger furniture (and all belongings) were moved with so much care and large pieces of furniture that could be taken apart, they took apart and then put back together in the new home. I cannot recommend Academy Movers enough, and I will absolutely be using them for all future moves as the value is unmatched by other companies for the care and experience they bring.

I used Academy Movers to move my 3 bedroom house with woodworking shop. They were amazing! I have a very delicate, 500 pound machine that also needed to be moved. They went above and beyond to have it moved safely. I highly recommend them and if I ever require movers in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to call them again. It's supporting a great cause as well ?

Filled out the form online for a quote and didn’t hear back, had to call in to get it done and whoever I spoke too was very rude and short with me then sent an extremely unreasonable quote for a small move. I am very dissapointed as I used them in the past and had a very different experience but due to the service I’ve received I have changed my 5 stars from a few years ago to 1. Seems like a complete 180 from the service I received during the last move, will be looking for someone new and would NOT recommend.

If I could give them more stars I would! They went above and beyond what you’d expect. The owner (?) Bernard was amazing. He knew how dire our situation was. They were booked solid until the beginning of March but managed to get a crew together in less than 24 hrs to get us moved yesterday (02/20). We also had the ministry involved with paying for our move and was able to work with us about the date for payment. The movers that we had were polite and took great care with all our belongings. The crew honestly felt like we’d known them for years. Super friendly. I seriously will be talking about them for days. I highly recommend them.
