The service at this branch was very warm and empathetic. They went and above to accommodate my request, even though it was not a very common banking request. The manager was especially kind and definitely serves with a customer first attitude. I am very pleasantly surprised by the quality of service from BMO and would be happy to do more business with them in future.

Very dissatisfied with the level of service I received here during my last visit, and will definitely not be returning to this branch.I don’t visit the bank often, but some banking cannot be done online, so I went in to deposit some cash, a check, and a US bank draft. I was not prepared to be treated like a criminal.When I got to the wicket, the teller demanded to know where the money I was depositing came from. When I asked why they would need that information, as they’d never asked me this before, she said they had to ask about all cash deposits now, to be sure they aren’t money laundering (“I’m sure you understand,” and a scathing glance up and down me).The check I was depositing (a refund on a student loan overcharge) was in my maiden name and she said she would need to see ID proving I was the same person. All of my ID has been changed over at this point, but they should have a record of my name change in their system, and both names are still on my account, so it should not have been an issue.When it came to the bank draft, I was told they would need to put a hold it for 30 business days. I realize this is the standard for foreign personal checks, which is why I’d asked my client for a bank draft instead – a month’s worth of work isn’t something I wanted or planned to wait 6 weeks for, especially right before Christmas. When I asked her why a bank draft, something cleared by the financial institution, something that cannot bounce, would be treated the same as a personal check and held for 6 weeks, she couldn’t give me an answer and kept repeating that it was a check from the US and would need to clear.I have since contacted BMO’s customer service and asked about two of the three of these issues, and further clarified this by going in to a different BMO location, depositing cash, and asking about bank drafts. No questions were asked about the cash deposit, and I was told that a US bank draft’s hold is based on how long your standing with the institution; I’ve been banking with BMO for nearly 20 years, have never bounced a check or deposited a check that has bounced, and am in good financial standing overall. The manager at the other location gave me a 7 business day estimate.All this is to say that I am thoroughly disgusted by how I was treated, and if it weren’t for the outstanding customer service of the customer service line, and the other BMO location, I would be closing my accounts and switching banking institutions altogether. I would not recommend the Cloverdale BMO location to anyone who wants to be treated with dignity and without hassle.

I frequent this BMO for business deposits etc and I've never had a negative experience. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the line is usually quite manageable.

We have been having problems with my credit card processing on a branch in New Westminster as we just got here in Canada 2 months ago. They were able to solve it and processed it right away. It was so hustle free interacting with them. Now, just waiting for the cards. Thanks.

Swapnil did a great job helping me with all the inquiries that i needed. He explain it to me nicely and calmly. I really appreciate it. He gave me such a great advice what do's and dont's. Bmo in cloverdale branch staff are nice and friendly. Look for him just in case you want to open an acct in bmo cloverdale.

Recently visited the BMO Cloverdale branch. Very impressed with the new location and renovations. The branch is modern, clean, and the staff are super helpful. Bev from the service team helped me get USD dollars for my upcoming vacation and Swapnil from personal banking is readily available whenever I have questions about my finances. Highly recommend this branch and the team for all your banking needs.

Really good staff. Very welcoming and caring. I was there for some urgent work and I was also very worried. But Harbinder (staff member) helped me in such a wonderful way that the problem was solved within 10 minutes. I’m very thankful to him and the rest of the staff. You guys made my day.Thank you
