I am a working professional from the USA I cross the boarder weekly but at 7 am the currency exchange isn't open I usually go to Campbell river when the exchange is t over because there's no fee and they give you market rate this time I walked in and the store clerk said he can't help me until the manager is inside so I waited ten minutes she walked up looked at me grossly and said uh are you the one that wants the exchange? I said yes the. She called someone who was supposed to be the owner which no one has ever do e before and she proceeded to tell me hey the rate is 1.28 I said oh do you guys go by market rate she said yes even though the market rate was 1.36 I go there so I don't get ripped off at the airport I. Very disappointed on the fact that I had horrible service and was probably given a horrible rate and treatment because I'm a black women I travel all over Canada and for some reason the east Indians in Surrey hates me and are discriminating thank you I'll now sit at the boarder until 8 am and take my business elsewhere

There are not many things to sell, just rest your feet, you can refuel, and you can take the bus to Seattle

On Sunday May 12 I was at Campbell River store purchasing gas. The young man entered my purchase incorrectly and I was not able to get the amount of gas I had paid for. After reporting it to him and a female staff member I was left standing around waiting while they serviced other customers. I eventually got their attention again and the female clerk reacted with a very arrogant demeanor. After once again explaining my situation she spoke in a very condescending manner and strutted in and out as if I was very much bothering her. It appeared as though neither of them knew how to operate the equipment correctly and seemed to feel I was to blame. I am elderly and find this behavior very unacceptable I have shopped at this location a few time and have always been very happy with the service. I post this in the hopes the young staff might obtain some customer interaction training .

Had an amazing smokie at the food stand .Super clean friendly people .Very professional .They are very different to the previous guy but I liked their smokie better. Amazing selection of condiments .They put the condiments on for you .I didn't like that at first but after the hot dog guy explained why ! I was good with it. Seems some people are not very hygienic and cross contaminate everything .Eww! After thinking about some of the things I've seen at all you can eat and self serve salad bars as well as the bulk bins at the grocery store .I was glad . I asked about the small dog? Seems that there is a huge demand for those because of small children the elderly and those on diets that just want a couple of bites. The Top dog :)told me that he uses a premium quality product and it's what his customers demand .Enough said .As for the jumbo dog ,neither I nor the hotdog guy prefer it .But it seems it's what his customers overwhelmingly ask for. Thats why I'm a smokie man :) As to Costco ? They sell hella hotdogs and I don't think we will need to throw them a fundraiser anytime soon? I found the previous smokie product to be to fatty and of lesser quality. The new people are very friendly and will bend over backwards to please you .It seems the reason they can serve so quickly is because they use a steamer to bring the products up to heat and keep them moist. I read the previous review and you know what they say about opinions ? He is entitled to his and now you've heard mine. Please decide for yourself . P .S you can tell I'm a loyal customer of the New Guy " HOT DOG HILL " I follow them on Facebook . Bon Appetit

This review is not for the gas station and grocery store itself but rather the hot dog cart outside.A couple of months the ago the regular hot dog cart operator disappeared. He was an older guy with sometimes a younger guy with a Boston Red Sox cap running it from time to time. They worked an old Mr. Tube Steak cart (Mr. Tube Steak the company went out if business years ago but they're carts do appear now and then - same cart, different hot dogs tho). I asked inside and was told that he either had family issues or health issues, I can't remember. I was told that he would coming back April 15th. This guy had the BEST hot dogs around... He bought his weiners from the States and the buns were local. He had fried onions and always toasted the buns nicely. I would make the trip down to the border sometimes just for the hot dog!! Absolutely delicious.April 15th comes around and I head down to the Campbell River store for a hot dog and to get gas from Blaine. What do I see??? A new cart with two new people running it. I peaked at the barbeque and saw these tiny weiners that you get from the grocery store. I looked at the menu and saw a variety of hot dogs including a jumbo hot dog for $5.50 which is 50 more than the previous guy.I order the jumbo and it's handed to me in like 10 seconds. I thought huh, they didn't even warm up the weiner or toast the bun. I got the hot dog and it's on a tiny bun so thr weiner is sticking out 2 inches from both sides!! The lady also put thr condiments on which I don't like.. I prefer to do it myself. Anyway I took a bite and it's clearly a Costco hot dog!!! I got about 2/3 through and tossed it out. It was disgusting. So sad to see the original "hot dog man" disappear and be replaced by this new cart with inferior product.I highly recommend NOT stopping for a hot dog here. You can make the small hot dogs yourself at home and the jumbo dog is only a $1.50 at Costco with a drink.

Service has always been outstanding, a hub of activity and commerce. One of the only places you can manually obtain a crab licence.Sad to see one of the more seasoned, smart and prosperous members depart.

Super charming and quaint! Very close to the border so it’s easy to stop by and grab everything you need before a long drive. The new owner is so nice, friendly and welcoming!

I haven't visited this location or any of the other locations.....but if it's good enough to be included in an episode of Supernatural (season 10 episode 18), then it's alright with me. And when I do decide to visit Canada, I'll stop by there just because!!!

Most honest gas station in the GVRD, they dont price gouge for premium, raise prices on weekends or charge more than what the tax difference is between fraser valley and the lower mainland.Keep up the good work ???
