“Big shout out to “Dillon” over at Source for Sports. While Dillon may not be the young man’s real name, it’s a nickname well earned and thus, shall be used for this humble review of mine.
I recently visited this location in search for my first ever brand-new pair of skates. I know, hardly seems possible—being a Canadian adult that has never owned a brand-new pair of skates—but it’s true. And for my 42nd birthday, my lovely wife decided to remedy that oddity, and bought me my first ever set.
Dillon was the knowledgeable young man who assisted me. And right from the moment I walked in, I could not have felt more welcome, nor in more capable hands. His understanding of skates and the intricate technologies held within them was instantly on display as he informed me of what brand and set would suit me best. He took the time to measure my feet, examine my gait, and offer advice.
Dillon worked diligently and convivially throughout our interaction. He even threw in some free stick wax and stick tape for the wife’s mini-human. Thanks Dillon.
Highly recommend this place. Every time I have gone in, I have been treated with tremendous respect and courtesy.
Definitely heading back for any and all my hockey needs.”

“I was headed out for a New Year’s Eve snowshoe to Sovereign Lake, just below Silver Star ski resort. I discovered my old Merrell snowshoeing hikers were cracked and no longer waterproof. So I stopped in at Valhalla Outfitters in Vernon on my way to Sovereign. Not only did Valhalla Vernon hook me up with a great new pair of Oboz winter hikers, but they also honoured a competitor’s sale price! Kudos to Valhalla Vernon, I highly recommend them and will definitely be back!”
