Karim-FA, has been exceptionally helpful, professional and knowledgeable. After over two years of frustrations with other financial advisers at this branch due to unreliability, lack of communication or knowledge, Karim addressed my issues and resolved them in one meeting. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet him and finally rectify any outstanding items I had. Give this man a raise and don’t let him leave! Thank you so much Karim.

The last time I updated my address, it was not reflected on my account statement. The person at the counter informed me that merely updating the address on the website does not automatically update it on account statements. Despite changing my address in September 2022, the update did not appear on my statement until September 2023. Consequently, I had to visit the branch to address this issue. I requested the teller to manually update my statements with the correct address, but he refused multiple times. This was despite it being Scotia Bank's fault for not updating my address as per my earlier instructions. The teller's demeanor was unfriendly throughout the interaction. When I inquired about reaching out to management, he hesitated and attempted to avoid connecting me to them.

Shawn at this branch is absolutely fantastic. He listened well, understood our situations and helped us out. He’s super knowledgeable and was clear throughout. Honestly it’s the first positive experience we’ve had with Scotiabank’s customer service in years. Thank you Shawn!

Don’t expect them to get anything done they’ve blocked me out of my online banking for 7 months now and won’t do anything to get me back on it. The whole company is a joke

I went to get a replacement debit card due to a suspicious transaction for which I applied through phone from customer support. I was supposed to get it delivered to home. I waited for more than a month and during this time I didn’t pay the credit card bill coz my account was locked. I got the debit card from branch. Branch employee says it’s error from customer service provided by Scotiabank and branch has nothing to do with it. Ok I get coz I don’t expect a sorry from branch employee who has nothing to with it. But Scotiabank no matter which branch or online or wherever in Canada they are has failed to complete a service which they told me they would complete within 14 days ie to deliver my debit card home through post. I don’t live in country side for my card to just disappear during the delivery through post. I live nearby the city. As a small amount of interest has appeared on credit card I asked employee if it’s possible to get it removed as I was waiting for my card to get delivered for me to get access to account. His first explanation was no as I should have came to branch. Ok what if I was an elderly person who needs a help to another person for transportation to branch. Then asked for further explanation he says that charge is not supposed to taken care by our branch as I made the request through phone to customer service. Fine I get that too. I said ok I will call customer service. I between this conversation he even murmured that he is not gonna pay it out of his pocket. Well I didn’t ask anyone to pay for me. I was only asking what’s reasonable as a Scotiabank customer for last 5 years to remove the extra interest as I was waiting to get debit card and access to my account. I understand all of it. At last I asked him from his part what can he do ? If it’s possible to call customer care from branch to make it faster. Then he prints out a list of all banking accounts I had with Scotia - all closed and currently open bank account ie checking, savings and all previous and existing credit card details. Then he shows me an amount of $1000 for an account which shows a closed status and tells me that I owe that money. In fact I owed a about 244 on debit and about $530 on my credit card. I told him I don’t know about $1000 but rest is all correct. Then I opened my bank application it doesn’t show there and on printed paper that he gave me I check and it clearly says that it’s status is closed. I don’t owe that $1000 coz I paid it full to get a new credit card with more limit. If someone doesn’t know how to check properly and give explanation. Don’t say anything. But he choose to give me false information and told me to go to another branch as their branch code is mentioned near that closed account details. In short the person didn’t check account details to give a clear opinion and just told me wrong amount of money that I owe to bank. I don’t have any problem in paying the right amount of money I owe to bank. But don’t show me that information on a paid and closed credit card and tell me that I still owe the money for that too.

I had the worst experience from a bank ever at this branch. I left and cried in the parking lot because of how rude and condescending one of the tellers were. She kept cutting me off and interrupting me when I tried to ask a question, wouldn't let me talk to a higher up about my issue, said I was lucky i wasn't charged an extra fee (which is plainly incorrect, but she felt like threatening me with it for some reason) and basically told me nothing could be done. I was shocked with her behavior over the matter and was not expecting it at all for the issue I had. I'm very timid as is so it was hard for me to deal with and I almost closed down my account entirely because of how unreasonable the whole experience was. Thankfully, I went to the other bank at hillside to deal with my issue there and they were incredibly nice, understanding and resolved it immediately without any hassle. I absolutely do not recommend coming to the uptown location if you have an issue because they will do nothing about it and probably make you feel terrible afterwards.Edit: my teller was Suzannah. Avoid.

I don’t go to the bank very much, sometimes you have to. Last 2 times I went over the last 6 months, it was closed including yesterday, so frustrating.

Rude, wouldn’t look me in the eye, made me feel like garbage. I have banked with scotia for years and this has never happened. Louis was my teller. I was doing a basic transaction nothing fancy. Definitely go to a different location.

Tried to cancel an ongoing payment, and they had no idea how to do it. Then when I do finally cancel it I find out a week later the charges are still going through. Like come on

Everytime I have come to this location the ABM's are never working and when one is working you put your card in and it only allows you to check the balance. Can't put money in or out. Horrible that the one system designed to deposit or withdraw money doesn't even work.

If you want to work with a bank that actually cares about your money and wants to help you if something goes wrong, don't use Scotiabank. And if you are determined to stay with Scotiabank, definitely DO NOT go to this one.
