I so regret opening an account with Scotia Bank. Absolutely by far the worst bank in Canada. Their system is so slow at updating. Your balance and your transaction history can't be trusted. It will tack on charges, transactions, and fees days after they've actually taken place. Your balance will show positive and so you make transactions accordingly. Then the system will register transactions from days prior. So those transactions you made even though it showed you had a positive balance, we're actually made in your overdraft. And then suddenly your charged a pile of overdraft handling fees. What's funny is those handling fees don't apply to your account immediately either. It's insane. They'll pop up days after the fact. Everything is so slow. And all this does is screw you over and charge you fees and take what little money you have left. I've banked with every major bank in Canada now at some point in my life, and Scotia Bank is the only bank that has this issue. It's a ridiculous, ridiculous issue and I think I'm just going to close my account tomorrow.

My wife has accounts at this bank and we have had mostly kind of frustrating experiences there, however yesterday, Nov 29th we had a wonderful experience when we were at the window where Esha was working. She was so quick, so thoughtful and helpful. I hope she is recognized for the way she deals with folks at her window.

Always on point with request. Tellers are exceptional on Saturdays.

I would leave a NO STAR review if that was possible. I am so fed up with phoning for one question, and you can't get and ENGLISH speaking representative on the phone, that actually understands ENGLISH and speaks ENGLISH, instead we have haystacks that literally can't answer one question, because they don't understand the English language. This bank is a fail for me.

Do not go this brunch. What a poor customer service in an unprofessional manner. One of the tellers issued me two unsigned bank drafts - which would not work on the system at all!!! I had to come back all the way down to White Rock again, only to cancel the issued bank drafts!!! So annoyed and frustrated as a customer.. highly recommend not to go there.

Angie is hands down the best financial advisor! If you have any question or inquiries, she is the one too see! Very informative and helpful!

Terrible customer service. From the tellers who give run around answers, to the branch manager who gave more run around answers. Our family has closed out all of our accounts with scotia bank as a direct response to the incompetence of this branch.

I have had an account here for over 5 years and have never encountered an insurmountable problem. With the changes in banking and with the prevalence of COVID life has been more difficult and so my banking has been a little more difficult. I am a senior which has produced a few problems but the staff have always been cooperative and have searched for ways to help me with my special circumstances. Thank you.Tom Bailey

Was a new customer trying to open a chequing account. I did everything online and it said to pick up the card at this location to activate it. The teller provided me a card, set up the pin, I gave her all my documents. I get home and try to log in and get an error telling me to "try again". I wait a day just in case something needed to activate. I still couldn't log in. I wait 20 mins on hold to the bank's help line and it turns out someone at this branch completely screwed up the activation of the card and it wasn't linked to the account I had set up. After 40 minutes of troubleshooting I still can't log in and am told to go to the branch again. Yeah nope. Never had issues with TD, Manulife or Weathsimple and I bank 100% online with the latter two. Huge waste of time.

Helpless teller! I have an issue with an unknown transaction! The fraud department told me to go to the branch. I went to the branch and the teller told me to call the company instead of looking into the note that fraud department left. I will close my account once everything gets resolved

Not the best first impression. Came to this branch to inquire about opening an account to have some money transferred. The person at the counter seemed new. She had 2 people behind her (to coach/help her?), but they did not say a word. The girl seemed a bit lost and just gave me all the information she could/knew without actually answering my questions or offering to set up a meeting with an executive to discuss options/types of accounts. I noticed she would not be able to help me so I thanked her and left. Maybe they could train inexperienced agents to have potential new customers make an appointment with an executive. I noticed this after visiting other banks around the area.

Do not finance your car or any other loans with scotiabank. They can't help you in the bank locations nor on the phone, actually they never pick up the phone, you will be on hold for hours. My first time dealing with scotiabank and this will be the last. I will never take loan or mortgage from these guys no customer service what so ever. ?

Lousy and slow customer service during Covid. We live away from the branch. So calling in for information or service menace 30 min to an hour of wait time on the phone. Or you are transferred to the center already who are just as unfamiliar. Nevertheless calling in is a real hassle.

I had called Scotiabanks 1-800 number and explained an issue I had and they set me up with a phone appointment with Angie. The day of I received no call and when I emailed enquiring why she missed my call and that it’s inconsiderate to waste people’s time she replied with “I had to step out of my office and this is not this branch’s issue”. When I told her that a simple email letting me know would suffice she stopped responding to my emails.
