Aria Supermarket is a specialty Eastern European market in Alameda, offering a great selection of authentic foods from that region. It is the only place in the area to stock up on many items, including frozen pelmeni, various dried meats, ajvar, pickled veggies, and Ukrainian ale. The market provides a range of snacks, cookies, candy, and other treats, alongside a frozen food section. The business is also known for its fresh, homemade treats. Customers praise the astounding potato pie, delicious baklava that is not overly sweet, and the best turkey sandwiches. The owner makes a mean sandwich and delicious deserts. The market features a front area with ice cream, many pastries, and aromatic Bosnian coffee, which is similar to Turkish coffee, where people can hang out with a cup. It is a grateful spot for those seeking authentic Eastern European foodstuffs and homemade delights.
The cutest store. I love to stop by on my walks to pop in and grab my favorite ice cream (their espresso flavor!) for me and a scoop of vanilla for my dog. It’s always a pleasure to see their guard dog Bella too 😊
