“An excellent source for graphic novels for school age kids, especially if you want more diversity than the typical marvel or DC approach. When I found out my 1st grader was trans, this store helped me find age appropriate books that they could see themselves in. And they in turn learned stories about brown kids, black kids, and immigrants from other graphic novels there that I would never have known existed. Staff are excellent and know their stock.”
“Rodolpho has helped me select mattes and frames for several prints and paintings. He has excellent taste and experience to guide you with colors and finishes that complement your art and bring out certain attributes of the art based on your taste and what you want to bring attention to in your art. I was so impressed by him. I would not let anybody else frame anything special to me except for him! Highly recommend!”

“I was wandering along in San Francisco on my way to visit the bookbinder museum when I met the owner of The Box SF, Mark. When I told him I was interested in books and other historical items, he graciously invited me to enter his shop. The outside is discrete and belies how magical the inside space truly is. When you enter, you're immediately blown away by the vintage art and artifacts everywhere. Mark and his assistant, Israel, gave me a mini-tour and explained how the shop specializes in ephemera, which refers to items that were designed for short-term use (advertising prints, perfume bottles, soap labels, etc). The shop contains items from the mid-1800s to the early-1900s from around the world. Everything is in great condition and attests to the craftsmanship of earlier time periods. What was supposed to be a quick 20-30 minute visit turned into a 2-hour visit.Everywhere you turn, there's something new to take in. I love antique and thrift stores, yet I have never encountered anything as unique as The Box. I found some souvenirs to take home with me and even the wrapping paper was this cool, historical print. The Box is a treasure trove for people who love vintage, antique, or novel artifacts. If that's your style, you have to visit.”
“Got an amazing tattoo from Joe! He was so professional and really listened to what I wanted. Go here - you will not be disappointed! Also he was able to cover an old tattoo perfectly. My friend also got a coverup from him that turned out amazing.”
“I have bought a number of Sobu pieces over the years (couch, side table, pendant light, and most recently dining chairs) and adore all of them! While the staff have always been very helpful, I live a little further away now so tend to just order online because I know which pieces I want and their delivery has been speedy and fantastic. Their pieces are incredibly well-made and beautiful and are quietly rugged enough for daily use without showing barely any wear, and strike the balance I love between modern and nostalgic. It's amazing to find a local store that's my go-to for nearly all furniture and homeware I'm looking for, with the added bonus of avoiding big box retailers!”
“I absolutely am in love with what happens in these 4 walls. The ambiance, the people, the art, the DRANKS. Come get a coffee made from mushrooms in the morning and stay till happy hour and grab an off the wall drink from the Specialty Cocktail Menu. The music, lighting, comfy seating, and staff are all there for you. They book for private events as well as being open to the public.”
“Super cool experience. Went on a team building thing and enjoyed every minute. Walked away with a stemless wine glass and something unforgettable. Staff is super cool. If you go, tip! They will walk you through everything. Also, there is some glass on display and I think some for sale but I didn't ask.”
“Best bike repair shop ever. A small one-person operation. I brought in an old hand me down bike to get a flat fixed. Greg noticed that the frame was dented where saddle sits preventing the saddle from sitting properly. After warning me that the bike might not be salvageable, he said he'd see what he could do. So he whipped out his hacksaw and removed the dented portion of the frame. Voila, I had a usable bike!”

“Attended a well-organized event there, beautiful space and wonderful, kind staff. Shout out to the woman/team members who saw that I had a baby with me and offered a quiet, private space away from the hubbub.”
“Great gallery filled with great work. It has flat files filled with print work for purchase and an art vending machine and a free art stand so that everyone can afford to leave with a piece of original art. They also do classes and have art studios too. Definitely worth a visit. We’ve never spent so much time in a gallery this size. Impressive and inspiring.”
“Absolutely beautiful copper vases, pitchers and bowls, and all for very reasonable prices. The co-owners are also very friendly and nice. Overall a wonderful store to stop by, and likely find some great items. A treasure!”
“I love everything about this shop! The staff is so welcoming and helpful, and it's the perfect place to buy gifts (especially for myself). They have a wide variety of products, and most of them are from other small businesses (some of which are local). I couldn't recommend this place enough!”
“What a fun store. It’s been years since I visited & it’s just as wonderful as I remember. Amazing amount of diverse & unique merchandise with wonderful sales ladies. I hope to return for more goodies soon.”
“This store is filled with fun, fresh, local items. The inventory is inventive and such a breath of fresh air. And you can tell they care about their customers and their experience. I had a quality issue with an item I bought for my son and the owner was responsive and helped me get it replaced. Thank you!”
“Great art gallery located on a corner in the mission. The top level is bright with a lot of natural light shining through the windows. Lots of art that I had never seen before and I found to be really exquisite. They have a downstairs basement level with additional art pieces and ones that you could browse through wrapped individually. Recognized one artist where I had seen their work in DTLA before and it was nice to see their work on other formats. Would recommend dropping in if you enjoy admiring art. :] guy on staff was also really kind. I would say that there are some affordable pieces here and interesting perspectives.”

“Be sure to stop by Lola's next time you are in Noe. She has the nicest selection of gifts, clothing and accessories. I just got a beautiful coral scarf here for a trip yesterday and can't wait to wear it! Have also purchased a wide variety of other items here over the last few years such as gloves, hair clips, aprons, kitchen towels and more. I always enjoy great quality and service from Lola and her lovely team. Don't forget to ask about her custom clothing as well -- such a talented seamstress and artist!”
