Casa Oaxaca is a lovely, cute little shop on Solano Avenue in El Cerrito. It is a beautiful place of culture, filled with a beautiful range of authentic Mexican goods. The shop offers thousands of items, including clothing, jewelry, earrings, sculptures, candles, crafts, tapestries, ornaments, and the famous, extremely colorful and playful Oaxacan wood carvings. The space is filled with trinkets, art pieces, and beautiful black jars, all reflecting a clear love and respect for Oaxacan culture. The shop keeper, who is authentically from Oaxaca, is very prideful of these cultural connections. The staff is very nice, increasingly welcoming, and provides great service with clear answers and great interactions. They are very warm and generous people with much information, never tiring of questions. Latin music often fills the shop, adding to the authentic feeling. The beautiful pieces are available for very good prices, with a price range that varies from not expensive to very expensive. It is a great little shop worth a walk in to marvel at all the items, making it a fun and welcoming destination.
Lovely place of culture. The staff was very nice and increasingly welcoming when I visited. They sell a number of Mexican trinket and art pieces, much of which the store owner is very prideful of in its connections to their culture.
