“A very friendly guy with a great beard took me around personally to find all my items (and discuss them) despite my family and I arriving 10 minutes from closing time. Amazing service. I have deleted all other hardware stores from my mind.”
“The painters did a very nice job. Even small details were handled professionally. I will definitely use them again with other projects I have in the future. Danny was very helpful in getting me started on this project.”

“Good stock for a small location in the heart of the city! There staff is usually overly kind and helpful when your kind to them. Great people to help you with any household, residential & commercial needs in real estate or personal art projects.”
“Like a scaled down version of big box home improvement stores... but feels local. You might not get the widest selection of what you're looking for but you'll find what you need. Staff are actually pretty friendly and helpful. I've been to other stores in the city where they get impatient with you if you're not a contractor. Central location was useful when I needed to run to get stuff for home reno projects.”
“I went here about a month ago and couldnt be more pleased. Old school..like when i was a kid and had to get parts for old school tools and fixtures of my moms stuff. Went to home depot about a week ago to get a part for screen door..the latch that handle clicks into. Omg..what an ordeal..they dont have them..you have to buy whole new handle with latch. All i had was a hundred..OLDER woman on outdoor cashier says..20 40..80..3..i said wait..she takes it back and reads it out right..then accuses me of stealing a red bull i had in my mobility scooter when i came in..IM 70 FGS...TOLD HER I LIKE MINE WARM..SO THEIRS REFIGERATED?..SHE SHOULD PICK IT UP AND TEST IF ITS WARM..ONLY THEN DID I REMEMBER...MY GOD...TRUE VALUE..OWNER . TREATS YOU WITH RESPECT..AND YOU JUST CANT PUT A PUT A PRICE ON THAT!”
“I’m a licensed contractor and use to purchase building materials and tools from the Discount Builders Supply. I shop there 3, 4 times a day. The people who are working there are friendly and helpful. Every time when I get there I feel like meeting friends.
Richard, Nevenka, Sally, Marie, Kai, Bobby, Carman, Sergio, Myra… and many others. Well done!
I strongly recommend this business 👍🏻”
“Friendly, helpful knowledgeable service. Wasn't very busy, clean store well stocked. Easy fast transaction. To explain the minus one star: only because there is very little room for parking in the lot and sometimes street parking is not very close. as a small person walking to my car with a gallon of paint was just a little inconvenient.”
“Super friendly, knowledgeable staff. I came in with an idea and they talked to me about how to get the outcome I wanted.
They have a beautiful variety of supplies and can special order art supplies too.”
“Never thought I would review a hardware store but the people that work at Coles really make it something special. They are all so sweet and helpful! Not to mention they really do have everything you might need.. love this place!”
“This store has the best customer service! I placed an online order for in-store pickup and was not able to get the order within the timeframe. I really wanted the order so I called and spoke to a really nice gentleman on the phone and asked if I could provide a prepaid shipping label so they could send the items to me. They agreed! Toby helped me and shipped it out the same day. Best service ever. Thank you so much!”
“The staff are super helpful and knowledgeable
; they have a nice showroom to show the paints; they were prompt with a quick walk-in order; and the final results were amazing!”
“These guys have helped me find and match obscure paints, and get it just perfect every time. I’ve used them several times and it’s always been a good experience.”

“Excellent paint shop with great service. I relied on them for renovations at our home and they have plenty of supplies like sanding sponges, caulking + tools, and paint brushes and rollers. The paint match technology is accurate and a life-saver for restoring walls that were painted many years ago. Highly recommend!”
“I go to the 750 Bryant store regularly and the staff is incredible! Monty and the others have full knowledge of the products & applications. They are quick to wait on you & I’m never left waiting, important to busy contractors. I give it 10 ⭐️!”
“Incredibly helpful and patient staff. I've never had a bad experience with the crew at Mark's Paint. I was in recently to look at wood stain and a team member went out of their way to make swatches so that I could see the end result of various stain colors. I never felt rushed or in the way. Great place for anything paint/stain related.”
“The best paint store in San Francisco, bar none. Extensive selection and fantastic service provided by this long time neighborhood family business, established in 1988. Pick your own paint or have Adela assist you - she's got an excellent eye. Prices are reasonable.”
“I swung by this store, today, a couple minutes after 12:00pm, their closing time. When Alex saw me, practically in tears, and needing only 1 gallon of exterior home paint, he graciously agreed to reopen and provided me the best customer service ever. I know this store almost exclusively serves contractors, and trade folks, so Alex going out of his way for a $50 sale from one lone homeowner, well that went WAY above and beyond. Thank you, thank you, thank you Alex! Sherwin Williams is now the ONLY place I'll ever go for paint.”
“Great store, large range of products, the woman I talked to was very patient and helpful to help me finding a solution to the problem I had.
I recommand this place.”
“Love this place. Although it is a small shop they almost always have the odd part or piece that I need for the honey do list. Free parking, attentive service and knowledge and no wasted time.”

“Very helpful service. I was looking for a paint color in the beige family to repaint old worn cabinets. The associate took time to go through 6 options. I ended up selecting a smoky beige. I love the outcome! The paints here are top quality. I’ve added some before and after photos. A huge difference.”
“The most fabulous, friendly customer service one could hope for. I was repainting my office and had brought in a paint chip sample to color-match, that turned out to be too small, and I didn't have time to go back and forth. One of the staff heard my plight and came out to help me see if we could color-match it by sight (he said he was good) from the sample cards on the wall. I kid you not, we found a perfect match (he was good)!!!! I do think the original paint had likely come from Sherwin-Williams, which was a huge help, but seriously, I could not have been more stoked. They helped me make sure I had what I needed, and when I returned a week later for more paint to do a second accent wall, they remembered me by name and were just as helpful. It's so nice to go to a local business where people really care.”
“I can't say enough good things about my experience with Max! I had some sun damage on the roof of my car, and Max was incredibly helpful in locating the color information I needed. He found me the exact match, which I really appreciated. Not only did he provide great info, but the level of service was even better! If you're looking for someone knowledgeable and dedicated, Max is your go-to person. Highly recommend!”
“I called about a product that Homax the manufacturer recommended I call PPg and they were very helpful. Although they didn't carry the item. Luis went above and beyond to help me over the phone and find me alternatives. He wa a honest and very helpful amd professional”
“A massive shoutout to Rosie, Marko, and Michael at the Berkeley showroom! They are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and went out of their way to assist me. I highly recommend working exclusively with this local team. Before finding them, I had a disastrous and incredibly frustrating experience with F&B's online customer service. The digital team was awful, but the Berkeley team swooped in, untangled the mess, and completely saved the day. Skip the online store entirely and just go see Rosie, Marko, and Michael!”
“I broke a hose head one time and they gladly gave me a replacement. They always have the gardening, plumbing and automotive stuff that I need. I’ve never had a problem. Great place.”
“If you are attentive , you notice the clean and simple nature of the signage ; and that for me is somewhat of a reflection of the building services they hopefully provide .
I mean you want your plastic surgeon to be handsome before your surgery . You know what I mean”
“Much bigger than meets eye. This place is like 5 different rooms and has literally anything you can think of. Surprisingly, there is also a lot of great souvenirs that are way better than actual souvenir stores. Friendly and helpful staff.”
“Very helpful and I got a color deck so I can get the exact color I need. They can also do color matches if I need it. They also have everything I need to complete my project and what paint will be best for what I'm painting ie., walls, molding, doors.”
“Here's why you should make all your paint related purchases at East Bay Paint Center (and resist looking for cheaper brushes and whatnot at Home Depot or Amazon).
First, they carry Benjamin Moore paint and it's the best. You can pay much more for paint or slightly less, but either way that's silly. Benjamin Moore always has terrific colors and texture and great durability. Any time I've hired professional painters, this is the line they use. We need to keep this business thriving so we can always get a same-day gallon of Chantilly Lace (if you know you know).
Second, they have everything paint related under one roof. Your time is valuable and you can't go to two stores looking for the wide painters tape or that butcher paper stuff to cover the floor.
Third, their service is above and beyond. You order online and your stuff waits for you on a shelf outside for immediate grabbing. You walk in and someone asks you what you need. Amazing. I put their service to the test today by ordering a sample size of Dark Taupe paint, placing it on the roof of my car while I loaded other things, then driving off. When I realized what I had done (and I did it -- you can see my Dark Taupe paint splatter in their parking lot), I returned to apologize and reorder and found they had REFILLED MY ORDER and placed it on the shelf without comment. You think Home Depot would have done that?!”
