“Quite the toy store. The staff are friendly, I went in looking for a unique chess board and they had one in stock. The prices are quite fetching in this store and I did not get the item because of that, but still a good spot for the family and kids in the neighborhood to meander in and have fun.”
“I bought gifts for six different people with very different tastes here! She has such a great collection of cool stuff, and honestly priced too. Usually at gift shops most of the merchandise makes me cringe, but she clearly has a talent for finding interesting gifts to fit all sorts of people. No tacky knick knacks or tschotchkes”
“Stop researching strollers and car seats on the internet. Just come ask Mika - she's so so so helpful! She even walked to our car with us to figure out which car seat fit better.”
“Has everything. College vibes abound. Prices are a little higher then the cheapest on the internet but feel fair given that there is actually helpful staff around.”
“I often pop in here to get second hand clothes or shoes for my kids. Recently it was my son's 4th birthday and we were all home sick. He had been asking everyday for over a month if his birthday was tomorrow and if he could please have a spider stuffie. He was so sad to miss his birthday at school and I had had no time to buy him a present because we had back ti back illnesses for a month. I called Kelly's corner, they had one and asked if I could pay over the phone and have her toss it out the door to me so as not to infect anyone .she was so sweet and offered to drive the gift to my house (we lived nearby)after work. She even wrapped it in a gift bag and added a few trinkets. It made his day and meant so much to me. Thank you!”
“Great toy shop with excellent customer service and a huge selection of toys and books. All price ranges of toys, from infant to grown up there's a toy for everyone here.”
“This place is so awesome I needed a mask but they still let me in and my kid played with his electronics alot now not anymore the store and the staff are the best I EVER SEEN!!!!!”
“You HAVE to come here if you’re looking for gifts for little ones - we stopped in to buy a gift on the way to a 1 year olds party and found the perfect thing + a card. They even wrapped it up in gift wrapping free of charge. Small business like this make all the difference.”
“The second my partner and I saw how unassuming this shop is we knew we were in for something good. The collection in here is amazing, and the owner is very nice. You can tell there is a lot of love for collecting and anime/geek culture in here. Really wide selection spanning tons of different anime, manga, comics, games, across many decades. Japanese moomin merch (or ANY moomin merch, for that matter) is really hard to come by in the u.s., and we were able to get a cute moomin plushie from Japan, one that neither my partner and I have ever seen before despite being moomin fans for 5+ years. Even if we hadn't gotten the plushie I was honestly happy knowing that the owner at least knew what moomin was. I'll definitely be stopping by in the future next time I'm in Oakland/Emeryville.”

“Amazing customer service. I used there Warranty program and was blown back. I have been buying poi from them Since the original ones and traded mine in for a newer set. I thought the process was going to be hard but the employees made is very easy. They explained how everything worked and keep in contact we me though email the whole time. I would like to say I’m a customer for life but I already decided that a long time ago. Also I was shocked how fast they shipped my stuff back to me. Keep up the exceptional customer service.”

“Amazing selection of toys, from vintage puzzles to modern-day action figures. The items are stacked to the ceiling. There's literally something for everyone. It's almost a sensory overload.”
“This place is wonderful!! It’s my go to for a great present for a baby. I love that they have both new and used stuff, and the sale rack is legit. The people who work there are kind and helpful. It’s so cool that you can sell your high quality baby clothes if you don’t have anyone on the hand me down train. Highly recommended!!”

“The proprietor is an absolute gem! We popped in impulsively and wound up with a great conversation, tons of fascinating toy + pop culture history trivia, AND a couple truly wonderful gifts for family. Thank you for the Star Wars action figures and Alfa Romeo collectible!”
“This little guy took a big trip home to Victoria, Australia, 35 years ago. We’ve loved him ever since and want another one the same for our little girl due in December. Thank you for a childhood full of happy memories.”

“The staff is very knowledgeable about real books. But the store seems to lack the majority of books, half of the story still books but the other half is toys, games and other ridiculous items that I would not buy in a bookstore.”

“This store is spectacular with so many wonderful, loving and ambience feelings shopping in here. I am an adult without children but I love the little one in me. Thank you so much for sparkles.”

“I was looking for swimwear and a sweater (both from Tea Collection) which were sold out on the company's website. After a google search for the items, I found Fiddlesticks! They have a nice selection of children's clothing as well as plush toys (I ended up buying a few more adorable plush toys from Jellycat). When I received the package today, all items were individually wrapped and there was a sweet note from the owner. Had a lovely experience shopping online. Highly recommended this store.”

“The Katachi, store is like being in Japan shopping; it really gives you that kind of feeling, the service by the two kind and professional guys who helped me; Hendson Hwang and Sean Campos, they were not only nice but very knowledgeable, so next time when you are in San Francisco go to Japan Town and stop by Katachi, the store is awesome.”
“Super7 has become one of my absolute FAVORITE purveyors of plastic goodness within recent years. The Supersize and Ultimates lines especially have won my business forever!”
“Ying Hobbies & Toys it's the hidden gem you never knew you needed! My wife stumbled upon this treasure while on a quest for Gunpla goodness, and boy, am I glad she did. Tucked away in a cozy spot, Ying Hobbies & Toys might play hard to get at first, but once you lay eyes on its bounty of plastic wonders, you'll be hooked. The store might be small, but it's bursting at the seams with an array of model kits that'll make any Gundam fan's heart skip a beat. Seriously, choosing just one model feels like trying to pick a favorite child - impossible and bound to hurt someone's feelings. But fear not, the guy running the place is pretty helpful. With his guidance, navigating through the sea of model kits becomes a breeze! Oh and the pricing is super fair specially for all the cool stuff you can find. So, if you're a Gundam enthusiast or just someone who appreciates the art of model kits, do yourself a favor and pay Ying Hobbies & Toys a visit. Trust me, it'll quickly become your go-to spot for all things Gunpla. Happy building, fellow plastic yelp warriors!”

“The Exploratorium Store is the place to get all kinds of generic science-related gifts. Mainly stuff for kids, and some of their inventory you can likely find elsewhere online. A lot of the products are only vaguely related to the Exploratorium and what is displayed in it, there wasn't much Exploratorium branded merch or memorabilia outside of a few shirts and buttons. Would love to see more, honestly. The prices can be high, I remember seeing a pin that was not much bigger than a thumbtack going for $13, but it's an expensive museum so it makes sense that their gift shop is also expensive. Other than that, it's fine quality. My little brother really liked the knee-doh ball he got here. Overall, 4/5.”
“You can find a bunch of great figurines, board games, etc. They have a variety of brands like Bandai, Good Smile Company, etc. Yup, nendoroids! The best shop in Japantown for figurines and authentic.”
“Loved my experience shopping at Aldea, Alfonzo was absolutely AMAZING! Helped me pick a stroller that was perfect for my needs and guided me through everything! As a FTM things can be overwhelming so I appreciate him taking the time to help me!”

“Wasn't sure what to make of this shop when I first moved into the neighborhood, but two years later I don't know what I'd do without it! They have a very well-curated selection of cards, way better than you'd find in a drug store or supermarket. They also have a constantly rotating collection of random giftable items that have helped me out in a pinch on several occasions. Prices might be a bit higher than some other places, but good taste doesn't come cheap!”
“Very cool toy store. Great mix/range of toys. From silly/fun/lower engagement to developmental/higher engaging. Kind staff. Included complimentary gift wrapping with purchase of toys. They also will wrap toys/gifts from elsewhere for a nominal charge. Very nice wrapping with string bow. Cool store to just explore as well! Seems like they are engaged with the community, and sponsor a youth sports team. Kid friendly with supervision, and leashed dog friendly.”
