The Arcata Theatre Lounge, built in 1938 and renovated in 2009, is a unique Art Deco cinema that offers a variety of entertainment. It hosts live music, performances, classic movie screenings, and private events like birthdays. The venue has a retro, cozy atmosphere with a touch of gritty, punk style that appeals especially to college students and those who enjoy a rougher aesthetic. Visitors appreciate the affordable drinks, including beer, and the overall fun, lively environment. The theater features good acoustics and often shows old, obscure films, adding to its nostalgic charm. Despite occasional issues like frozen kegs, staff handle situations well. Overall, the ATL is a popular spot for entertainment, parties, and events, providing a distinctive throwback experience with a vibrant and welcoming vibe.
