“You will have a good experience here. The owner's usually happy to give you a quick helpful tour of the shop if it's your first time or you look lost. You shouldn't look lost though, as the store is well layed-out. It's a two-story deal. Mostly nonfiction upstairs and fiction below.”

“I had a computer emergency and was so relieved to find a replacement in Arcata. Not only did they have the latest tech but Jordan the store manager was extremely helpful in store, over email, by phone, and even text! He was able to apply all the promos and didn't try to upsell me on anything that wasn't necessary. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and everything he did, he did it right away and thoroughly. He even discovered a $20 over taxation that happened with my purchase of apple care and processed me a cash refund on the spot. He seems to be one of if not the only employee, but he runs the store efficiently and it looks great in there. Jordan, thanks for your help with my new laptop, I am so pleased I didn't have to leave the area to make this big tech purchase and you went above and beyond at every step.”

“I've been coming to this bookstore for years, and absolutely adore it. If you’re spending time in Old Town Eureka, it’s well worth stepping into Booklegger, a warm and welcoming independent bookstore located just off the Old Town square and right across from Los Bagels. The shop has that wonderful small-town bookstore charm: cozy shelves packed with both new and gently used books, a wide variety of genres, and little extras like puzzles, cards, posters, and quirky gifts that make every visit fun.

One of the best things about Booklegger is the way they encourage the community to keep books in circulation—they offer store credit when you bring in used books, which you can then use toward your next purchase. That trade-in system not only makes it easier to keep reading affordably, it also helps this beloved local bookstore continue to thrive. If you have used books at home, bring them in—it’s a simple way to support a great local business while giving good books a second life.

Don't miss this spot - it's cozy, friendly and filled with great selections, including a little nook absolutely packed with comics. Stop in - you won't regret it! And you'll probably end up with a really great new book to take home with you ;)”

“Such a cozy, aesthetic store. Friendly staff and books are categorized well. It was hard to choose just one book! The sticker selection is also neat. We found one that looked just like our kitty at home.”

“I walked through the doors of Redwood Adult and Teen Challenge on July 1, 2020 with a 20 plus year heroine and meth addiction. The staff were so supportive and led me to a relationship with Jesus that transformed my life. This last July 1,2024 I celebrated 4 years clean. I graduated college and was hired on as staff in Southern California Teen Challenge aka the Castle. I met my beautiful wife and was married this last March. We moved back to Eureka and I became staff at Redwood in April. My desire is to see others set free through same program where my chains were broken. None of this was possible without a safe and loving place like Redwood Teen challenge. If you or someone needs help please have them call.”
