This place is horrible. I can’t believe it is in business. They tell you that the prescription will be ready at 9:15 and when you show up to get it at 9:15 the pharmacy is closed. Every time we use this waste of space there is some kind of problem. I just wish we could use someone else but there is nothing else in the area. I just wish they would care about the customer as much as they care about complaining about their job and why they are running behind and such.

Probably the worst store you can go to on the Central Coast. Understaffed. Attitude from the few employees they do have. Dirty store. Takes FOREVER to make a FedEx return. Why offer the service if you can't man the counter?

A note of thanks to Amber, Senior Pharmacy Technician at the Atascadero Walgreens, for her help today, September 18, 2023, in resolving a "hiccup" with my insurance. Her calm demeanor and assistance was greatly appreciated. Thank you, Amber.

This pharmacy is awful. The people working are always nice, but clearly overworked. It take days to get things filled sometimes. It’s never ready when predicted. If it’s delayed and you don’t call, it will never get filled despite the app telling you not to call and no action needed.I’ve waited all day for a stool softener which already is a nightmare to need, never mind having to wait all day and just having to skip and get an OTC. I’ve not had a single interaction with Walgreens pharmacy go smoothly in the last 2 years. Unreal.Don’t get me started if you need to fill something remotely controlled. The lack of options in medical care and pharmacies is arguably the worst part of the central coast.

I called to make sure my prescription would be ready the day before I planned to pick it up. The pharmacy employee assured me it would be available for pick up by 11 am the following day. When I went to pick up my prescription at 3:30 the following day, my prescription wasn't ready. The guy at the drive up was extremely rude. He said my prescription was filled and ready for pick up at the Walgreens in Modesto! It was clearly a computer error on their part. I understand mistakes happen but rude behavior and snarky tone of voice in an already frustrating situation is never acceptable. I had my prescription transferred to another pharmacy and picked it up in less than 30 minutes after it was transferred. I'd give this pharmacy zero stars if I could.

First the pharmacy said they didnt have my post op pain meds (they did) .5 days later I call yet again after the SURGEON called. NASTY woman told me it wasnt her job to find my scrips from my doc. That the doc needed to do their job. I told her the doc had proof in system it was sent on Friday - 4 days ago and had called this am and confirmed they had it. She got all pissy then put me on hold and then hung up the call. Hows that for SERVICE. Called back and this NICE lady helped me found the scrip, merged the two accounts that somehow got created since medicare has my middle name and i use my first (no clue how that happened). She assured me it was there, my files were correct and the credit ards etc for payment were all set. I send a friend down to get it. She calls and the NASTY woman is at the drive thru. Saying I dont have a card and she cant take one over the phone so I have to COME TO WALGREENS. Which I cant cause Im down with massive pain post hip. I explain to her what we had done on Monday in my accounts - she claims Im lying. Says they never do that. I ask her to get a manager and she slaps me on hold and suddenly - my friend calls and says she has the meds and the files for my account were correct afterall.I am DONE with people being nasty and taking their stuff out on me. This woman has done this every time Ive interacted with her.CVS - here I come.

Well they did it again. Notified me that my prescription was ready. Drive 10 miles to pick up and they are closed with no estimated time to reopen. I leave on a cruise tomorrow. Nice job Walgreens. Please do not use this Walgreens. Too many times they have done this. I'm done with them and so should you.

My husband and I had to change pharmacy because of insurance changes and I hate this pharmacy. I don't use that word a lot but man, we have only been there twice and everyone at that pharmacy sucks! They are rude and not helpful in any way. As soon as we can we are going to use our mail order pharmacy instead. My husband said the only person that was helpful was someone named Karen.

The pharmacy here is having some serious issues. They pressure you into setting up auto-renewal, followed by multiple calls and texts once filled. Then you show up to their location to pick up the refills and 80% of the time their lobby is closed, forcing you to use the drive thru (which is backed up 4 cars deep on two sides much of the time). I came this morning at 6:30 a.m. thinking it would go faster. Lobby was closed YET AGAIN, so off to the drive through I go. I waited 20 minutes for them to deal with the ONE person ahead of me!!! This has really motivated me to seek to switch my prescriptions to another pharmacy. Oddly no other pharmacies in the area seem to have this issue with staffing, which makes you wonder how badly must it suck to work at Walgreens?

The pharmacy is chronically understaffed. Go anywhere else and you'll be doing yourself a favor. I showed up today and was first in line. After waiting 10 minutes to be recognized, they said they couldn't hand me the prescription because the pharmacist wasn't in.

Horrible experience. Called to fill a prescriptions. Not knowingly, my call ended up being call forwaded to a call center. Person on phone said it would be ready in an hour. Showed up and pharmacy was closed. Spoke with staff and they said pharmacy wouldn't be open til 9pm. Called back customer service and person kept insisting the pharmacy was open. Wasted so much time.

It is clear that upper management has allowed this store to degrade. For reasons unknown to customers the pharmacy went from good to poor, poor. Their software appears to be shoddy. The drive through equipment is obviously in need of replacement and often only one bay is available. There have been as many as 20 vehicles in line and many, many waiting in line inside. The employees are working as fast as they can but the store does not seem to be able to retain staff. The responsibility falls up to district or state level. And now the store is often empty because people tired of the mess. And I would like to make it clear the employees are working, helpful and pleasant. Pay attention Walgreens. As you are the only Walgreens in this county your business should be top drawer.

I really have to give a shout out to the pharmacy folks at this location of Walgreens. They are always pleasant no matter how busy they are, they have always gone out of their way to make sure my meds are filled properly and on time and are covered by my insurance (when they aren't they have actually been kind enough to call and warn me so I can get in touch with my doctor to get a different medication that's covered or figure out a better way to pay for it!) They even have convenient drive thru option for picking up and now even home delivery for meds that comes within a few days time. If I order my refills enough days in advance I usually do not even need to go pick them up anymore. Couldn't get easier than that! Thanks for having my back and making taking my daily meds an easier thing to manage! I really appreciate you guys!

Fact: anyone who believes private business is more efficient than government has never tried to get a vaccine at Walgreens. Adherents to the Jewish faith have been waiting for the Messiah less time than I've been waiting in this line.
