“We brought our beloved but high strung 65# dog for a rabies shot and a nail trim today. The doctor and tech saw us outside because he’s too nervous to be seen inside. Dr. Mackinnon and her assistant were so experienced and knowledgeable that they accomplished these 2 tasks without having to sedate him. Something no vet has been able to do in the past. We LOVE Dr. Mackinnon and her whole team and are so appreciative to have them in Auburn. 🐾🐾❤”

My husband and I were a little nervous about becoming new puppy parents, but from our very first visit, we immediately felt reassured and cared for. Dr. Tafoya is incredibly personable, responsive, knowledgeable, and you can tell she genuinely cares about her patients and their well-being. “Best vet i have been too. Dr. Ted's diagnosis and treatment are always spot on. We have been going to him for 5 years and my old cat still moves like a young kitty despite thyroid and kidney disease which was actually reversed due to the excellent treatment plan outlined by Dr. T. He goes above and beyond by making himself available. Even after hours as needed, and his knowledge and energy for his job are remarkable. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and do a quick turnaround with any qs. I highly recommend south auburn vet.”

It is now at a point where people are choosing not to have pets due to the cost. This is unfortunate. It is important to have fairly priced veterinary care in our community. “We adopted our fur girl from my mom in February of 2024 after moving to the area in December of 2023. Naturally we needed to find a vet clinic that we trust, and we did just that. The staff are always polite, and the reminder emails are so very helpful. Recently, I had a feeling our girl had something in her nose so I called on a Friday and they had services available same-day! We scheduled for the following day, and sure enough they removed a foxtail! We were able to bring our girl home within a few hours and she is back to normal. Thank you to the whole team for being so sweet and kind to our Kaya girl during every visit.”

“In April or 2021 I adopted a senior female kitty, she was 9 years old and her name is Larri. When I initially got her she didn't seem to be eating much and she had diarrhea, I became very concerned, because she was pretty skinny. I was new to Roseville, having moved from the Bay area. A couple friends suggested taking her to Loomis basin. They said it was probably stress and then charged me a lot of money for that information. After awhile, her eating improved, but her diarrhea stayed. I took her back to Loomis basin and they said it was still stress or she could have an infection and would cost thousands of dollars to figure out what infection, and then they charged me $700 for that information. In 2023 I moved to Foresthill, and Larri still had her problem. I thought maybe I'd try the little Veterinary clinic in downtown Foresthill. That's where I met Dr . Sheriff, the owner of that clinic and also North Fork Veterinary Clinic in Auburn. I have taken her to the clinic in Auburn a few times. The staff is incredibly helpful. I'm disabled and they always come out to my car to take Larri in to be seen. They are friendly and polite and that is greatly appreciated by me. North Fork is a much bigger clinic than the one I Foresthill, and they offer a lot more services. I highly recommend this clinic. Apparently Dr. Sheriff has been serving the Foresthill community for a very long time., with very many happy customers expressing that on the Foresthill Facebook group. I took an immediate liking to him and his assistant Becky. Their genuine concern for my little kitty was incredibly comforting. I'm retired and live on a very fixed income and Dr Sheriff has gone out of his way to make the costs work in my favor. Larri's problem is complex and not normal and he is dedicated to finding the cause. I thank him so much for all his help. Foresthill is a pretty tight knitted community, they have a large population of veterans, I am a Navy veteran from the Vietnam era. There is a strong sense of community, which I find incredibly appealing. Dr Sheriff is a well respected member of that community, I'm glad I had the privilege of meeting him. I know he will find the solution to Larri's good health.”
