Why are all these reviews similar to my experience I was there and they charged me for a bag ( 40 cents) then the floor was sticky by the drink station I had went inside, the smell was unpleasant. The workers there are rude people.

I stopped to get gas on 2/21/23 at 6:25pm. Paid for a small bag of chips with $40 cash and asked for the rest to be put on pump 3. When I got to the pump, I only received $17.39 in gas ($20 short). When I returned to the cashier to tell him I was shorted $20, he rudely insisted I only gave him $20. We argued for a few minutes and I realized he was not going to make the situation right so I left. I called back this morning and explained what happened to the woman who answered the phone. She hung up on me when I asked for the owners name and contact info. I will never stop at this gas station again in life.

Came to the adjacent ARCO station as a pit stop on our way back to Redondo Beach from Wasco. Driving into the unfettered hellscape that is Kern County from LA county is a wholly unpleasant, and long, experience as it is, and I'd already been on the road for nearly three hours and downed a whole bottle of water and a Baja blast so let's be real: I had to pee something fierce. It says inside that the restroom is for customer's only, which I did not realize before I tried the door. We were already using the gas pump, but just to be safe I got a (ridiculously overpriced) bag of Doritos and some mutant cotton candy bag and headed to the register, where I asked for a restroom key. Guy behind the corner shakes his head. So I ask if there's a restroom open. Again, he shakes his head. I ask if the restroom is out of order or just unavailable to customers, since I didn't see a sign saying it was closed. Again, he shakes his head, and softly says no. I didn't want the chips or the cotton candy, I wanted to fcking pee. No explanation why there's no bathroom, guy staring at me like I'm gonna break in there to shoot up heroin or something, and then when I'm about to walk out some random maskless tweaker comes in screaming to himself. Not that anyone should ever willingly visit Bakersfield anyway, but if you're either stuck in this unfortunate, desolate cesspit where dreams go to die or you pulled over on the way back to civilization to get gas--don't come in here, especially if you have to pee.

EMPLOYEE FRAUD UPDATE: Victory! After waiting nearly an hour the Bakersfield Police Department showed up, spoke with myself & then with Anoob and his buddy. Magically, they said they were not able to review the video footage without the owners permission. Funny, just an hour before they told me they HAD reviewed the video & it showed nothing. They also claimed they did not have the receipt & I never gave it to them. The officers forced them to call the owner/obtain permission to review the video & while doing so the cops found the receipt laying on the office table.Turns out they were not being honest & the police not only recovered my receipt but the $20 mom got ripped off for. I'm telling you creeps, you screw my mama over I will turn into a pitbull & ensure you're put on blast for being thieves. Check the photos for proof, they finally gave our receipt back & the police stated this was'nt the first time they'd been called to that location for just this issue. Big thanks to Officers Rangle & Cruz of the BPD for being so professional about the whole situation. Normally I wouldn't have turned into a giant Karen but right is right - this was just plain wrong. These people they are absolute thieves & liars. See the photos attached for proof. WARNING!!!!! Fraud by employees here!. Stopped to fill my little 83 year old mothers Mazda up before we driving back to the coast. I was going to go inside & use my card but she was paranoid about debit card fraud & insisted I use the cash in her wallet. She had 3 $20 bills ($60 total). I initially took 2 to pay, then realized we needed bottled water for the drive. I walked the 10 steps back to the car & told her I was going to get another $20 - & did. She witnessed this.I got 2 bottles of Deluge water & when paying, I splayed the three bills and handed them to "Anoob." I told him to put the balance in the fuel, but requested a receipt as I knew there was no way her little car would take over $50 in fuel."Anoob" hesitated for a moment & finally produced a receipt. **I should have looked at the damned receipt then & there - my mistake**Fueled up & the pump stopped at $36.42. I grabbed the receipt from the console & walked back in to get my change. It didn't dawn on me until I was in line to even look at the receipt. I was shocked to see Anoob had only entered $40 as the amount of cash given & not the actual $60 as he was given. At this time I noticed Anoob would not make eye contact with me & appeared very nervous. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt as we all make mistakes. I was polite & approached him asking "I think you've made mistake. I gave you $60 cash, three $20 bills & I know this because I literally went back to the car for the third $20 bill to ensure I had enough fuel for my long trip home. Will you please give me the $20 you owe me?" He took the receipt from my hand, looked at it and said "you only gave me $40 it says so right here." It was obvious he wasn't going to help me, so I then asked to speak with a manager. Another man without a name tag finally appeared after several minutes, asked me what it happened & then interrupted me, speaking loudly in a foreign language to Anoob. They had a lively exchange and this man who refused to give me his name, took my receipt, turned & told me that he'd review the video. After waiting what seemed to be 12 to 15 minutes in front of the now closed register, the same man return saying "I can't see anything so I'm not giving you any money back." Again I clarified I'd gone back to the car so I could ensure I had enough fuel & get the bottled water, and had specifically splayed the three $20 bills out when I handed them to the cashier. I asked him to count his drawer out and he refused. I advised I was going to call the police and he laughed at me.While it wasn't th

I can't say enough positive things about the owner of this AmPm and her son. Last week I used their locked restroom at night. The fellow working gave me the key and after using the restroom I locked the door and returned the key. We then continued our trip to LaQuinta CA. The next morning I needed to get my wallet and realized I left it in the AmPm restroom. The exit we took was White Lane. I frantically called another Arco AmPm and he gave me the address of the one we used. When I called the owner of AmPm on Wible Road she answered and when I asked if they found a wallet she said "we have it here, my son found it." Those were the most comforting and unbelievable words all I could say is THANK YOU, thank you and I hope you have many blessing in your life for your tremendous honesty. My whole world was in that wallet. This easily could have ended very differently. We will always stop at this AmPm on our road trips.Thank you for your honesty and good will plus you have a very nice AmPm.Sincerely, Nancy

I really enjoyed my visit at this gas station. I like that the parking lot and fuel pump island is large and spread out. The prices are always very competitive for the Bakersfield area. I have purchased fuel here previously a few times but hadn’t bothered reviewing them. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door by the cashier. I walked straight to the rear of the store only needing to purchase water and gas. The store was definitely clean while I was inside another attendant was mopping the floor. The store shelves were stocked and easy to find items. The refrigerator section was clean and in order. When I got to the counter the cashier seemed genuine when asking how my day was going. Great short conversation. Definitely recommend this gas station.
