Bakersfield KOA Journey is a full-service RV campground located in Bakersfield, known as the Gateway to the Central Valley and the Country Music Capital of the West Coast. The area offers beautiful natural surroundings, with nearby parks, Sequoia National Forest, and Kern River, perfect for outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and fishing. The campground itself is praised for being very clean, spacious, and easy to access, with level sites featuring concrete and grass areas. Many guests appreciated the quiet, well-maintained grounds, and the friendly staff, especially during check-in and site guidance. The facilities include private showers and toilets that are kept very clean, along with a pool, hot tub, and a fitness room that visitors found great for relaxing and staying active. The campground is also dog-friendly, offering shaded off-leash areas, dog bags, and grassy spaces. There is a large, shaded kids' playground and a restaurant nearby, which some guests enjoyed. While some noted that the store was never open and required self-check-in/out, overall, visitors found the site convenient and comfortable. The camp spots are very spacious. The lender room and restrooms are very clean. The showers are clean. The pool and spa are well kept the only thing that can improve that would be to extend the hours past 8 PM maybe to 9 or 10 for the pool
