My 2000 Frontier started running badly, running rich, and wouldn't idle. Swapped out the TPS, and the check engine light came on. Took it to shop #1 (big chain that is known for mufflers), they charged $360, wrote the engine codes on the work order, and said "we can't figure out what's wrong". Took it to Nissan dealer. Figured if anybody could figure it out, it would be them. Two weeks later, they said the same thing the 1st shop said, and recommended Independent Nissan. Dropped it off Monday morning, and their first comment was they noticed it was running rich when I pulled up. I told them the history of the truck, and what I'd gone through so far. They called me Tuesday afternoon and said the Mass Air Flow sensor was bad, and gave me an estimate. My truck was ready by noon on Wednesday, and was $20 below the estimate. My truck runs like it should, and super fast turnaround. I will NEVER take my Nissan to any other shop for repairs. Independent Nissan has earned a lifelong customer!!

As a woman, this is the only mechanic I trust! Never highballs you with crazy prices and always treats everyone with kindness and a helpful attitude. Scotty is always helpful and Frank is very straightforward. Highly recommended

I will first say that throughout my encounters with both Scotty and Frank, they were always friendly and based on all the good reviews posted by customers they seemed to be a reputable business and were much more reasonably priced than the Infiniti dealership. With that being said, I took both my JX35 and G37 for oil changes without any problems. In September 2021 my alternator went out in the JX35 , vehicle was towed to Frank's shop, a new alternator was installed, ($1008.13) I drove the car home after repair and the next day the car lost all power and it was towed back to Frank's shop, when explaining the vehicles problem with the power loss, I also explained that the A/C wasn't blowing cold air and asked if he could check that out as well. A few days later I was told that the new alternator was defective and that a new alternator would be installed, I was then contacted by Scotty informing me the install was complete and the A/C problem was related to the old alternator. Later that afternoon my car began to overheat and the check engine light came on, I returned to the shop the following morning. I was then told that the second alternator was defective and that my particular vehicle (Jx35 2013) required an OEM alternator rather than an after market. So the alternator was replaced for the third time and upon receiving the vehicle the A/C was still not working so I returned back to the shop and was then told I needed a new compressor and battery ($885.05) Frank completed the repairs and I took the vehicle home. A few days later my car started overheating and making what sounded like a leaking sound so I returned it to Frank and he said the compressor was defective so he then replaced the new compressor. A couple days later the leaking sound returned and hot air blew from A/C, I was then told that a rock had blown threw the condenser during the course of the 2 days that I had gotten my car back and that's where the leaking noise was coming from. Upon picking the vehicle up for the fourth time, I was told not to pay for the repairs until I'd kept the vehicle for 30 days problem free. Two days later the check engine light came back on so at this point I took it to the Infiniti dealership where it was diagnosed with needing a catalytic converter which I authorized them to replace, no more engine problems or check engine light since. Unfortunately, the leaking sound never left and it was determined by the dealership that my car is low on refrigerant and side hose is leaking from crimp area and low side A/C hose needs to be replaced which will cost $916. The most frustrating part is that I'm thinking I probably only needed the A/C hose replaced instead of the compressor and condenser beings that the problem still existed after those new components were replaced. Although, I didn't have to pay extra for 3 alternators and 2 compressors that were replaced, it was in Frank's shop for approximately 2 weeks only to not properly diagnose and fix the problem. I would much rather have a mechanic tell me to take my car to the dealership if he doesn't know what the problem is so that I'm not wasting money on unnecessary repairs. I was very apprehensive about writing this review because as I earlier stated, both Scotty and Frank were always friendly but I just didn't want any prospective customers to be misled by the reviews as was I. My lesson learned is cheaper isn't always better.Services: Electrical

I can't say enough good things about Frank and Scotty and the quality of work they provide here. This has been my go-to shop for the last three years. In that time they have never misled me, never overcharged me, and diagnosed complicated problems the dealer couldn't solve.

Frank and Scotty are always easy to work with. I bring my car in and tell me what's wrong, and I get it back in a reasonable amount of time. Prices are competitive. I really appreciate all that they do.

Outstanding experience with this shop. Brought my car in to get a diagnosis and was treated professionally and without BS. I had bad experience at another shop and am always weary of mechanics but this place is top notch. They were able to help me out in a couple hours and get me on my way with a good diagnosis and no high pressure repair recommendations. Will be back when I need service and so glad I found a great Nissan shop. These guys know what they are doing and are a pleasure to deal with.

Best Nissan repair in town. Frank and Scotty took care of me and with fair prices. I had a problem with my Juke in San Luis Obispo and got it running well enough to drive back to Bakersfield. I was worried that the repairs would be major. Frank made some adjustments and now it's running great. I can't tell you how relieved I was that the price was affordable. They are busy but they worked me in and got my car back that day. Thanks again Frank and Scotty you guys made my day!

Very honest people and great customer service. The price was reasonable too. I had an alternator and a AC hose replaced here. I had a good experience and will definitely go back for my any future auto repairs.
