Worst customer service!! Every time I have gone into the branch in the last two weeks I have received different information and each time something extra was added for me to do. Banking information provided to me for a wire transfer was wrong as well which caused further delay in receiving my funds. When I asked why there was an additional wait time that wasn’t mentioned before I was threatened to make it longer to 9 days. Told me the review period depends on the reviewer and the check amount. There was no difference in the check from last week to this week in amount. Only thing different is the attorneys name was removed from the check. But because it’s “differently or warranted an additional wait time after they are the ones that made the mistake in the beginning.

No one answers the phone here. I was also told i would get an email regarding an update on my insurance and I never got one yet I was charged by Strata CPI payment, even though i emailed them a copy of my letter of declaration for new insurance, and submitted it online through their website.

Live chat doesn’t work on mobile, and no one answers the phone. The only way to get ahold of anyone is to physically go in or video call the front desk. Super inconvenient if you move out of town like I did, or don’t like video calling strangers.

Update: Someone called me back soon after I posted this review. They let me know that I was given incorrect information by the teller and that my name change records are available for employees to see. She was quick to make it right and accept my check as is. I am very happy they got back to me so fast and for making things right.This review is based off of my experience today. I’ve been a member here for almost 40 years. I’ve never had an issue until today. I got married last year and changed my last name. I got that updated at the credit union. Today I walk in with a check that was made out to my maiden name. I was hoping since they have on record my name change, that it wouldn’t be a problem. The lady who helped me told me they don’t have access to those records. She said I would need to bring in my old id with my maiden name or my marriage certificate. I’ve already done this when I changed my name. Why they don’t have access to these items, I have no idea. This is disappointing because I live several hours away and now I have to try and get the check reissued in my married name, which is a hassle because the company from which it came is hard to get ahold of.

I've been banking with Strata Credit Union for little over 3 years now and I'm satisfied with the customer service. Everyone is always friendly and accommodating. However, the staff is often quite young and lacks the experience, knowledge and education to help me with more complex financial matters. That said, they try their best to help me with my needs and are always polite. For basic/starting checking & savings needs, I would recommend them.Additionally, the dress code could be slightly more professional for a financial institution - it's a bit too casual for my liking (workout attire, hoodies and jeans).

I have had issues with my card getting comprised. I received new ones but today I went in and they refused to give me a new one. Being told a debit card is a " privilege ". Treating me as the criminal insinuating I am the problem. Time to look for a new bank.

I banked with Strata before they were Strata and were still Kern Federal Credit Union. My parents banked with them before I did and decided to bank with them after terrible experiences at actual BANKS. Strata has been a great Credit Union to bank with. I moved to Portland, OR, and still have them as my Credit Union; they are lovely. If I cannot get in touch with someone right away, I leave a VM and typically hear from someone within 1-2 hours. They are a small firm but trustworthy and reliable.This review also goes for the location in NW Bakersfield. I highly recommend this institution.

Like many of the other one-star comments, I would have to agree that the biggest problem is the non-responsiveness. I called them to ask questions about a HELOC and their voicemail instructed me that all of their loan personnel were on other calls; however, I would receive a return call ASAP or by the end of the business day. No response. I called the next day. Same voicemail, same non-response. I went in to speak to a loan officer directly. Ashley answered my questions but when I emailed her with a few more questions...well, I'm still waiting for a response. I have been in contact with other loan institutions who have been much more responsive so I will probably make my arrangements through them.

My mother has one of their credit cards that she just wants to cancel and she has gotten nothing but the run around from this credit union. The customer toll free credit card # makes you call a local number and the local number will not close it because they want you to sent it in writing. Lousy customer service.

This place seriously has the worst customer service and definitely isn't helpful. They closed my account without telling me and had me waiting for 2 days to let me know that it was closed without even consulting me. I truly don't recommend them to anyone.
