I was at the Shell Station Food Mart on Stockdale and New Stine on 12/22/23 at approximately 12:30 pm and there was a bloody paralyzed man on the ground between the automatic closing doors. He was stuck there while the doors kept opening and closing on his body. I asked him what happened. He explained his electric wheelchair (behind him and to the side) had run out of charge and he fell out of it in an effort to get into the store to charge it. He was crying because he was denied assistance in the store and had been there stranded for hours. He still had the cord in his hand while he was on the ground between the automatic doors. I helped him off the ground and back into his wheelchair and I tried to call his family on my cell phone to assist the man. There was no Internet connection. I went into the store to ask the password for their connection but the female employee said she didn't know it. I left and walked far from the store, got a connection, and called his family for assistance. This is a callous disregard for human life if ever there was one. The man was STUCK BETWEEN THE AUTOMATIC DOORS to the business!!! It just looked so Third World. It's just so sad that America, Bakersfield, and SHELL (Food Mart) has sunk into such indifference. I used to buy gas at Shell. But after what I experienced yesterday, I cannot morally support a business that allows their employees to look the other way and allow their patrons to climb over the suffering in order to buy and sell gas. SMH ?

No bathrooms and the pump got stuck on us and wouldn't start. We had to back up to use the one behind instead. I would give this place zero stars if I could.

Just wondering how you can require facemask but the employee isn't wearing one that just doesn't make any sense

I walked in to pay for gas and to use the restroom, then was extremely baffled by the amount of respect the front counter women had for their customers I will not go back.

The cashiers are always very friendly, albeit sometimes distracted with their phones. This particular location is much smaller than other gas stations and their pumps often times get crowded.

I purchased gas here and the user interface on the gas pump asked me if I wanted a car wash. I purchased "The Works" and drove up to the car wash. The code entry panel was locked, so I couldn't enter the code. I went into the store, waited in line for several minutes, and informed them that the kiosk was locked. An employee unlocked the kiosk and gave me a thumbs up. May as well have been a middle finger. The car wash was out of service. He knew it. The cashier knew it. They decided to play some sort of practical joke. Ha ha... Well, here's your chitty review. Is it funny now? Huh? Q: WHY DO THEY OFFER A CAR WASH WHEN IT'S OUT OF SERVICE?!?! A: BECAUSE THEY'RE NUMBSKULLS Really, it's because they couldn't find a 90 year old COBOL programmer to implement some better business rules. Seriously, this is some prehistoric chit they are using. Time to step into the 21st century... At best, the cashier was polite. Unfortunately, this gas station is a real chit show. I ended up going to the Mobile on New Stine and Stockdale. They have a superior brushless car wash and it actually works. It is much farther from home, but worth the effort.

Helping my inlaws move across the country, our three car caravan pulled into this station around 5am to fill our cars and drain our persons. The young woman arrived to open the store while we were fueling. As the lights were still off, my inlaws opted to go to the 7-11 next door for drinks and to find a restroom (with no luck).

If you are a truck driver I would not even waste my time going to the station if you don't have to because your company makes you the lines are extremely long just to get into the station then once you get into the station you'll stand in a line of about 7 to 8 people with one person behind the register going pretty much as slow as possible the place is a mess the bathroom has one toilet that maybe is working that day just a horrible experience

This Shell does not have a restroom open to the public. If i full up my SUV and spend $70, I should be able to use a restroom.
