“January 2024 was my first visit to SW Vet office. They have a pretty good website and they allow text contact as well as the landline contact. And you can make appts online or order food and other things through the website. Office is small and the parking lot also but the numbered spaces are good for curbside pickup if you need assistance getting a big or heavy pet out of your car. I found the vet staff very pleasant and I liked my Dr Hiteshew and her assistant. I brought my fat kitty in just for vaccination boosters after having to move from Bakersfield Vet Hospital and fortunately my cat did not have side effects from the rabies shot which I was dreading. I recommend this vet office.
Returned a year later in 2025 with Dr Holland for annual visit. And rabies booster. Pleasant staff and he was very nice and dedicated also. He recommended a prescription diet for my kitty who is pretty overweight so although the bag is pretty expensive I wi try it and hope she eats it and loses some weight slowly. She is middle aged. I recommend this office.”

“Dr. Mattias knows and loves cats and it shows in her approach and methodology when she examines your cat. She is the most calm and professional vet I that my wife and I have EVER been to. AND, as the name implies, cats only. No annoying dog barking to unnerve and unsettle you and your cat (who may already be feeling less than purrfect). 5 out of 5? No, 10 out of 10!”
“They were great. They worked with my budget and they were very helpful in regards to working with my living out of town when my dog had a limp and wasn't eating. He turned out to be ok, and the vets favorite guest! They all came to say bye when we left even the vet!”

“They checked on my dog even tho we didn’t have insurance for 64 dollars, the whole bill including her medicine was 84 while other places wanted to charge us 90 dollars for an appointment! It saved my baby and my wallet”

His staff are amazing, some may seem short but it’s only because they’re so busy but trying to be efficient and getting everybody in and out and their pets cared for in a timely manner. My three fur babes have all seen them and they’ve always been so sweet, caring and patient. I love how you can text and get an appointment. “Never underestimate the hole in the wall, these guys went the extra mile for my cats spay, they discovered she a hernia and fixed it in the spay surgery process with no extra charge. If I went to any other vet in Bakersfield they would of up sold me for sure.”
“We were real worried about having to leave our puppy over night since we had only rescued her 2 months prior and she had been experiencing separation anxiety. All the staff was great with Indica and this really put our minds at ease.
