Vons on Ming Ave, Bakersfield california. They are paid way too much. A grocery store that does not, even with customers waiting, open a checkout stations/lane, as they want you to use the self checkout lane. Only if you are purchasing alcohol or someone complains will they open one checkout lane.
June 24th, no change after a couple of months.

I was checking out my client's groceries at the Self Check Out, and for no reason Leticia came over and started harassing me with this hostile attitude, saying I was having a problem ringing them up, which I was not at all. But she acted like I was stupid and disrespected me, telling me what to do when there was absolutely no reason to because I can read and was doing everything right. I found the way she was behaving really bizarre. And judging by some of the reviews here, I am not alone in finding her bizarre.
That being said, you do have some good workers.

I’ve always had odd experiences visiting this Vons over the years for the obvious reasons. I usually let it slide because I don’t shop there often, but today took the cake. So, my daughter and I go inside to use their Coinstar machine. We insert the coins and collect the receipt/ticket to take to the cashier in order to get the actual cash. It took a while because my daughter had a lot of change. Anyway, when we got to the register, the cashier called her associate over and proceeded to loudly announce that she had a ticket that needed cashing and announced the amount of the ticket. The associate then takes the ticket and walks away to verify that the ticket was real. She was gone for at least 5-7 minutes. She finally comes back and let’s the cashier know she can pay us our money after announcing, “everything checks out!” with a huge smile, totally pleased with herself all the while laughing as of it was funny. Nothing was funny. At all.

Their customer service is terrible. The black cashier guy and the lady at customer service not only cheatting on customer but also very mean and no manner at all. First, I thought the cashier forgot to gave me $5 on my digital promo coupon. But he did it on purpose. He scanned my coupon and did not give me my discount. He said no and told me go to customer services.I told him he already took the coupon. He refused to correct his mistake. So I had to go to customer service and thought they will correct their mistakes. No way. The lady at customer service is terrible. She made me and two others waiting for hours without saying sorry. She did not care and did not want to help either. She knows that once the casheir scan the coupon it is not show in my phone. Therefore, She told me there is no coupon show in my phone, so she cannot do anthing. What is dishonest and mean customer service at Vons. Don't want to go back.

I bought a chicken salad on my lunch and as I was finishing it up I see a mosquito or a fly in here. Absolutely disgusted. God knows if there were more in there. I probably ate them! You guys should talk to ur supplier and make sure these food items are up to standard. It was my first time purchasing it too. I’m not coming back.

Store is nice and clean. Their flower arrangements don’t last long at all. I’ve gotten 2 $60 flower arrangements within a week and a half and they both don’t seem to make it past the 3rd day. Very disappointing!

Have employees on register when you open no one wants to be forced to use your self check out! Vons makes enough as business that they can afford to pay employees!!

Still some issues of missing stuff on shelves but it is improved! I've been lied to....I was told all Vons were being remodeled to mirror each other much to shopper discomfort.. they aren't! Might as well shop some place else. Then they put self-checkout area..ripoffs happening! Wise up!
