“👍++ The front desk red haired lady and the lady Ms. A that does the breakfast and coordinates decor (I'm bad with names) were amazing and made the place pleasant! Great personalities to interact with even the maids. They are the stand outs. Rooms are good , linens and pillows are surprisingly good. 😒 The road noise is infuriating. Needs acoustic films or baffles outside windows.”
“Only issue I had was a new house keeping staff member was pushing to get me out of the room before checkout time of noon so he could clean. He got pissy and gave me a dirty look. I spoke to the Sam at the front desk and he handled the situation very quickly and professionally.
Beside that I enjoyed my stay.

“Love this place!!!! Free breakfast ( breakfast, not just continental.) Extremely clean rooms with microwave and mini fridge. Big pool, cute Courtyard, and extremely friendly service. If you're passing through, I absolutely recommend staying here.”

“This is was my 2nd stay here. The rooms & beds are clean & not old & worn out. However I did have an issue opening my door as the lock wouldn't release. So I had to make several attempt to open the door.”
“Erain with food services was great. Felt bad, because he was a one man show and the hotel was at capacity (cleaning, cooking, checking customers out), but he handled everything professionally.”
“This was very outdated (think 1990s colorful carpets, wallpaper and a crammed layout). However, it was CLEAN. Very clean. While everything was old, I would rather have an outdated room, then a dirty room. I appreciate how they kept it clean from sheets, blankets to baseboards, counters and carpet.”

“My son and I stayed for 2 nights last year and it was a great experience so we came back to the Topper motel when visiting Barstow again this year. The manager is very courteous and the room both times was very nice and greatly priced.

“Satisfactory value for money. Arrived at the last minute and by chance the welcome was friendly, we were able to see the room before renting it and ask for a room on the ground floor so as not to bring the suitcases up. Large room, furniture a little old but ok, comfortable bedding, well equipped fridge, microwave, coffee, just missing USB and normal sockets on the bedside table. The other sockets were a little wobbly and the adapters did not hold. Wifi ok. On the other hand the pool was not cleaned, earth or sand at the bottom it did not make you want to swim. Otherwise be careful, on the sign it says breakfast included, but in fact they do not make it.
Rooms: well equipped but furniture a little old. on the other hand comfortable beds
Safety: on main street of route 66, no safety concerns
Food and drinks: although it is marked there is no breakfast included”

“This is the BEST Motel 6 I have ever stayed at, and the biggest reason is Tay.
Tay is the kind of staff member every hotel wishes they had — professional, patient, and genuinely caring. From the moment you walk in, you can feel that Tay takes pride in keeping the property clean, safe, and welcoming. They treat guests with real respect, not just routine check‑ins.
The rooms are clean, the environment feels safe, and the whole place runs smoothly because Tay clearly goes above and beyond. You can tell they care about people, not just the job. I’ve stayed at many Motel 6 locations, and none of them come close to the level of service and kindness Tay provides here.

“We had a great stay at Ramada by Wyndham Barstow. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a convenient location close to several amazing local attractions and sightseeing spots. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast every morning — there was a good variety of food, and everything was fresh and enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit, which made the experience even better. Overall, it was a great place to stay for both comfort and convenience, and we would definitely stay here again.”
