Freight & Salvage is a fabulous and classic venue in Berkeley, a truly amazing historical pillar of the community. The hall is perfectly sized for intimate performances, warm, and welcoming. There is not a bad seat in the house, as every seat is a good seat with fairly roomy seats and a little more than average leg room. The acoustics are excellent and great, allowing everyone to be heard clearly. It fits a lot of people but does not feel overwhelming. People are friendly and the staff are very nice, with everything labeled clearly for easy navigation. Easy parking is available at the garage next-door. Restrooms are decent and there are gender neutral bathrooms upstairs. Free water is available near the concession stand, though there are not very many things to eat and no gluten-free options. There is no assigned seating. The venue hosts a wide calendar of shows and does much good for the community, creating great energy and unparalleled delight.
