Made a last minute order, not expecting to receive my carving tools before a trip abroad. Lucky for me, my order was processed overnight and my package reached me in time to use it on my trip. Super professional, will definitely order more tools in the future.

Great store! Like an old-fashioned hardware store for Japanese tools, knives and gardening equipment. I needed woodblock printing tools and they had just what I was looking for. Highly recommended.

Got my wonderful Hori Hori from them. Super great service and pricing. Lots of wonderful tools and goodies. Very hard not to buy the whole store :-)
Hida Tool Co. was started in response to requests from San Francisco Bay Area woodworkers to get tools like those being used by Makoto Imai, who had come from Japan in 1978 after his 5-year apprenticeship in carpentry plus 9 years as a teahouse and temple builder.
