“Stopped here for a last minute bouquet to bring to a friend’s graduation party. Told the shopkeeper to keep it under $25, mentioned a couple of colors, and let him do his thing. Turned out to be one of the most beautiful bouquets I’ve ever seen. The grad loved her flowers. Will definitely come back to support this local, family-owned business.”
“my favorite store in East Bay! they have an excellent selection of refillable soaps, cleaners, cosmetics, spice, oils, and vinegars (to name a few!). plus the staff is very helpful and prices are competitive. I love this place!”
“Stop by when visiting Tilden or seeing the views from Grizzly Peak. Friendly knowledgeable staff, helpful signs on plants, healthy looking plants. Found the best crop of 1 gallon Dutchman pipevines”
“This is my favorite nursery! They have a great selection of local native plants that are also healthy, well-sourced, and good price. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. I love their online inventory and order system; they will pull and hold orders, and it’s easy to get there and park. Their demonstration gardens are beautiful and helpful too.”
“As a professional gardener this is my favorite nursery to buy plants from for my own garden. No other nursery comes close to their variety of herbs & vegetables.
Happy to donate extra when I can to support their mission ♥”
“Gardensia is amazing! ti is incredibly helpful and knowledgable and the environment is fabulous. Just bought two incredible metal sculptures, pricing is great and he is super helpful and delightful to work with.”
“excellent store, great staff, good selection.
If you're looking for cheap, poor quality tools, this is not the place. If you believe in paying what it costs to have handmade tools made by true craftspeople, then you're lucky to live in an area that has Hida Tools.”
“super knowledgeable and friendly staff, and it's a worker owned co-op! the plants are very well taken care of. they also sometimes have pop up booths with interesting samples and tidbits.”

“My wife and I have been coming by since the '80s. We never lived locally, but between the Gardener and Ocean View Dinner many of our let's get away days were made, Heck our kids grew up coming here and still do. We miss the spot that used to be out in the country dearly.”

“Very nice lady(Alex is her name) and very informative and knowledgeable about her plants.?She was stern about some of her rules of not walking past the beige trashcan but it is her house and her business so keep that in mind hahaShe has a very good variety of cool plants and very very good prices but also keep in mind her hours of operation.I got several cuttings from her larger mother plants of euphoria and some bridgesii and haworthia. She goes out of her way to make sure everything is properly labeled with the scientific name which was awesome. She was wearing a mask the entire time I was there and was overall a good experience to me.Not sure of the negative reviews but they mostly seemed around people expecting this to be a large nursery which it's not, it's her house which I personally find cool to see people like her running a small business from.Besides the street parking it's a cool stop that anyone who likes cacti and succulents should check out. ?”
“Wonderful selection of unique plants. Owner is very helpful and realistic about what plants will do well in which conditions. I got several great plants from them and am very happy that I supported them. They are Filipino owned and have several cultural offerings as well. Love this place!”
