“Mid Century Møbler is a gem! Julian and Desirée are knowledgeable, kind, and clearly love what they do. The showroom is beautifully curated with great value, and the whole experience—from purchase to delivery—was smooth and enjoyable. They went above and beyond refinishing our Nils Jonsson “Florence” credenza, and even personally delivered a component to our home. The piece is gorgeous, but it’s their service and care that really stood out. Highly recommend!”
“As part of my Reiki practice at Healing Ki Wellness in San Ramon, I also provide an Energetic Alignment of Spaces. I was in search of crystals and out of all the many crystal shops near me, Stones Room 2 called out to me the loudest. My husband and I drove to Berkley and walked into the shop. It was immediately inviting..not overwhelming like many of these shops can be. The shop was kept neatly and was organized, products labeled with little que cards stating the benefits of each stone or crystal and it was a clean environment...a VIRGO like myself will certainly appreciate these qualities. The young lady at the counter was extremely polite and helpful and then we met the Owner. Let me say for both myself and my husband that we were so glad we met him and spent quite some time speaking with him about spirituality and kindness and crystals. They also own a second Stone Room in Albany which you should go visit. His wife works that shop and is equally humble and kind. I will never forget their kindness and will always recommend their shops to anyone interested in crystals and stones. Thank you (hand to heart).”

“This place is simultaneously stunning and overwhelming. The variety of beautiful tile is impressive—from traditional Puebla pieces to modern cement designs. Even the house numbers are works of art. We found ourselves gawking at the pottery, sinks, and everything else on display. Tiles range from $3 and up. Definitely worth stopping in!”

“Design within reach is one of my favorite go to stores while I'm shopping in the Berkeley area. Yes, this is an upscale Store, but even as the name of the store implies many things are definitely within reach! As a Hermann miller, faced store, you know right off the bat that anything you purchase is going to be of superior quality, not to mention having a great warranty to go along with it. The staff is always so very welcoming and friendly, and my recent shopping excursion was no exception. If you're not familiar with the work of Herman Miller, I implore you to explore each and every piece. The Eames lounge chair is my favorite! Plus, I love the fact that this chair is also made for taller people such as myself. When you sit in this chair, it's like sitting on a cloud. You'll feel absolutely warm and fuzzy. They also offer a variety of sit and stand desks that with a push of a button, can be adjusted for practically any height. This is absolutely spectacular, especially with so many people working from home these days. You definitely should consider this desk for your home office needs . A big thank you to Lisa and her staff for helping us out recently with our purchase. We greatly appreciate you answering all of our questions, and for bringing your knowledge and expertise to the conversation in order to help us make a decision.”

“Since moving to Sacramento this is now my closest cb2. I’m a big fan, but since cb2 never displays their entire collection in stores or keeps stock of furniture in store most of my purchases are online. The Berkeley location is a nice size but the drive from Sacramento is too far for in-store pickup effectively making it more expensive. The return policies on shipped items (that you’ve never seen) is not good. Retuning will cost you even if never opened or just took a peek. They deduct return shipping and don’t refund shipping to you. Hard to understand how non locals can realistically shop there. Considering Sacramento is top relocation destination for Bay Area residents it’s surprising they have no presence here. On the plus side the Vacaville Crate&Barrel Outlet often has a large cb2 selection.”

“I stumbled upon this shop while walking around Albany and was immediately drawn in by the Tagalog sign out front. The owner, Dom, greeted us warmly and invited us inside—even though it was past closing—which already says so much about the spirit of this place.
The moment I stepped in, I felt a sense of connection and calm. The space feels like a sanctuary—thoughtfully arranged, full of warmth, and deeply welcoming—with traces of Dom’s anitos and pamilya. The plant selection is incredible, with rare varieties, pet-friendly sections, and beautifully curated displays. The repotting space shows a commitment and mindfulness towards the customer and living plant being. (I only wish I could bring some of them back to Tucson!) Dom’s bunnies were the sweetest surprise, too.
Most of all, Dom herself makes the shop what it is. Her kindness and heart are felt in every corner. This is more than a plant shop—it’s a space of care, community, and joy.
If you’re in Albany, don’t miss it. Truly a gem.”
