We purchased a 2020 Prius from Deepak at Planet Cars earlier this year, and I couldn’t have imagined a smoother car-buying experience. I first found their listing online, which stood out as significantly better value than anything else I was seeing — almost too good to be true. When I called, Deepak explained that because Planet Cars is a small lot with low overhead, they’re able to offer very competitive, no-haggle pricing.
He was upfront and clear: the car would be sold as listed, no upselling, no hidden fees — just a fair price. I went to see the car, had it inspected at a local shop, and found it to be in great shape, exactly as described. We completed the deal that same day without stress or pressure.

Finding the right Audi as a woman can be intimidating, especially when searching online. I came across Planet Cars on Craigslist, and to be honest, I was a bit nervous at first. But I ended up buying my 2018 Audi Q3, and a year later, I’m still thrilled with my decision. The car has had no mechanical issues — it runs great! Just remember that with any luxury vehicle, regular maintenance is key. I take mine to Midas in San Pablo, which was actually recommended by the dealership. They’re great for oil changes and general upkeep. Big thanks to Ryan and Deepak for making the whole process smooth and trustworthy!

I drove from Sacramento and met up with Ryan at Planet cars. Ryan was friendly and professional. I was looking for a small car for decent price and Planet cars was the right place to be. Ryan showed me a few cars under my budget and offered to test drive. Once I made my decision, the process was quick and easy. Ryan helped me with trading in my old car. I’m really happy with my 2020 Toyota Corolla. Thank you Ryan and team.

I bought a Subaru Crosstrek a year ago, and initially I was worried with a bit of buyers remorse about some minor things that have turned out to be no problem - as I was reassured it would be by Ryan. I am allergic to the process buying used cars, but I should have relaxed, the guys there are great, and I have driven the car for over a year now, including three cross-country trips, and the car has turned out to be fabulous! I am very happy with it, it is perfect for me and my camping trips, I really like driving it, and very much appreciate the discerning eye of folks at Planet Cars to find quality reliable cars and offer them at a fair price. Highly recommend them!

I just purchased a 2020 Prius from Ryan and it was a smooth and easy experience. I was able to set up an appointment quickly, which meant no need to wait for someone to help me. The car was in fantastic condition and drove smoothly. Ryan made the whole experience easy, which was perfect because I was buying a car for the first time and pretty nervous.
Everything was clearly explained to me and now I have a beautiful car for a great price. Highly recommend Planet Cars if you’re looking for a used vehicle because their prices are GREAT! The reviews don’t lie and they even cleaned the car right up for me before I drove it home.

The customer care is on point. They do their best to make sure you leave with the car you want and in the best condition. My vehicle arose with an issue and within 2 weeks I got it fixed with no issues.

TLDR: this business is aggressive and difficult to deal with.
I am an insurance agent that serves thousands of customers with auto insurance in the East Bay. We deal with new car purchases every day; lenders and dealerships.
When a customer of ours planned to purchase a car from Planet Cars, they required the customer to provide proof of insurance. Every State Farm customer gets 14 days of coverage on their existing policies applied automatically to new car purchases; experienced dealerships know this. Every car purchase we have been involved with has accepted the existing insurance as proof of insurance. That is, until this date, with Planet Cars.
This dealership was forceful with the customer to make them get coverage in place before handing over possession of the car. They were aggressive in telling our long-term customer that their licensed insurance agent didn't know what they were doing and they should get a new one. Over the phone they incorrectly advised the customer of this insurance requirement. Eventually, over the phone, the dealership accepted the policy we had to offer, and later that day we sent the new policy for the new car.
I don't know why a business would act with such disregard for making a customer's experience seamless.
After placing my initial google review, someone who identified themselves as the "business owner" drove to where my office was located, aggressively entered my office and then proceeded to threaten me because of leaving this review. I will not pander to aggressive threats!
I do hope this business learns to work better with/for customers and the vendors that offer them quality services. We have a proven track record of caretaking for our customers with an excellent standard. I wish more businesses operated with that same duty of care.
