Went there around noon. No lines, quick and efficient service by “Top Dog”- thats what it said on his name badge. I was pleasantly surprised considering what I had heard about long lines and rude behavior at the Post office.

Terribly understaffed. The lines are ridiculous. Completely inefficient and so many people are turned away to complete some steps that could be obvious with better signs.

The male clerk "Tony" is rude. We arrived at the post office at 4:20pm for passport service for our daughter. He told us " it is closed for today and come back tomorrow at 9, and if there is no customer we can take it" usps website clearly states 9-3pm is by appt only 4-5pm is walk-in hours. Erica was helping another customer. She got done at 4:30 and Erica was very kind and understanding to accommodate us. Our application process took 5 mins, and we were out by 4:35.The fact that Tony said passport service is closed at 4:20pm. When he was not even assisting customers and there was no customer behind us, clearly shows his work ethic and customer service qualities. Tony, I hope you understand that to bring a newborn outside, we have to arrange her feeding and sleep schedule.Thank you Erica for your excellent work ethic and empathy.

When I first moved to California in August 2015, I brought a lot of things with me that I did not know if I would need. Where I was living, on Spruce Street, was close to this US Post Office in North Berkeley, so if I needed to ship anything back to Washington State - this is where I came. We would get flat rate boxes, and then I would fill and ship them as needed.Traveling past on foot a number of times, I saw the lines could be very long. So, I would think through what I really wanted to send back (introspection and prioritization) to reduce the number of times I needed to come and ship belongings to Washington State. Even coming early/off hours, there was a wait - but the line moved briskly and the workers were fast and professional.

This review relates to the usps service rather than this location. Shipping to Africa was to take 3-5 days but it’s been three weeks and it hasn’t arrived. Using the tracking number I saw it went to several locations in CA, then Chicago, then New York but it took days/weeks between each location. If it ever gets to the destination I’ll update this review.
