From the moment we set foot in the Henry Miller Library, we knew we had found something truly special. Nestled in the heart of a picturesque forest, this enchanting venue felt like stepping into a dream—a whimsical escape that perfectly captured the magic of our love story.
As avid book lovers, the library’s literary charm instantly resonated with us. Surrounded by shelves filled with captivating novels and the beautiful artwork that adorns its walls, we felt as though we were marrying in the pages of our favorite storybook. Every corner held a unique surprise, creating a wonderfully intimate atmosphere that our guests adored.
Our wedding day was nothing short of magical. The soft rustle of leaves and the gentle sound of the nearby creek provided the perfect soundtrack to our vows. Our friends and family were absolutely charmed by the venue’s beauty, often commenting on how it felt like a fairy tale brought to life.
The staff was incredibly accommodating and attentive, ensuring that every detail was just right. Their passion for the space truly enhanced our experience, making our day feel all the more special.

As both a bookstore and an events venue, Henry Miller Library is a space full of Magic.The lawn was the perfect place for our wedding ceremony as well as the reception, and the deck was the perfect stage for the dance floor!Magnus was a fantastic host and our guests were thrilled!Definitely hire a shuttle company when using HMML as an events space. AITS was a great choice for us.

Weird spot with books hanging in bags much like goldfish at a state fair. While a beautiful natural location, there seems to be all sorts of garbage strewn about under the guise of “art”. Piles of trash litter the front garden. With a little more respect for the natural environment and maintenance of the place, as well as a bit more respect for the books in the bags, this place could be a neat spot. For now it’s nearly a tourist trap disguised as “Beat”

Years ago I dwelt in a cardboard box in a charming little village outside of Paris, a devout practitioner of ‘hyper-rhizomatic absurdist haiku,’ which originated with the blistering literary mind of Jean-Paul de Knutzsacht in the 1960s. My most anthologized piece being,cigarette flap jackraining within gardeniaslugubrious hole.I decided my haiku required a tinge of Beat Americana to round them properly, so I ended up, after a forty week hitch-hiking expedition, in Big Sur. Oh, the jagged stone! Oh, the ocean’s relentless tides! While hallucinogenically bounding about the area I discovered the Henry Miller Library, a peaceful slice of the passion pie. Situated among the towering trees and cool breezes this bookshop will astound in its selection of titles of profundity available for purchase, including most, if not all, of Henry Miller’s works. I highly recommend this beautiful bookshop.

What an amazing find. The place is so peaceful and beautifully decorated. There are places to sit and read. At the rear of the cottage/library is a little stream and the sound of running water makes the place even more magical. Definitely recommend a visit! They also have a good collection of books :)
