I mentioned I was planning to sous vide the steaks and they offered to season and seal the bag.Without a doubt these were the most tender and flavorful steaks I have ever had! While not inexpensive, I consider them to be of excellent quality and value. I can’t wait to go back and purchase more!”

Goose livers? Seasoned and dry-aged beef? If you want that very particular cut of whatever, they'll likely have it on hand or if in the rare instance they don't they can get it for you in short order. A San Diego institution. 4 stars for their prices as sometimes prices are over-market by a lot. For example, I can get a very good organic, [truly] free-range turkey for $3.49/lb. Theirs runs $5.99/lb. Unless that turkey is massaged every day (like Miyazaki Wagyu Beef), $6/lb. doesn't seem reasonable. Just my take.”

“We learn so much about the meat processing, healthy farming and "best" cuts of meats are for us each time we go into this small but mighty establishment in North Park. This was a first time my hubby and I actually went to a 'real' butcher shop and were pleasantly surprised by how clean, and expedient the store and the service was and how knowledgeable and friendly "Tony" has been these past two times. I'm sure we will be back as we certainly appreciate paying for the best cuts of meat and enjoying our new carnivore way of eating!”

“I had encountered a little hiccups with my purchases. I want to thank Nick, the owner, for the great customer service he provided. I purchased A5 wagyu rib cap and Australian NY steak. The A5 Japanese was amazing. I don't care too much for Australian NY, but my partner does prefer that over the A5 JAPANESE steak. I love the A5 because of the marble of fat in it. It's my first time cooking wagyu steak at home. I'm glad I found a wagyu shop close to home where i can just pick some up. I don't want to spend arm and legs for 3oz at a restaurant and still come out hungry. I would rather come here if I want to feel little fancy with cooking my steak at home!”

With tons of options for burritos, tacos, and more, with great prices and prompt service, it's a fantastic combo of Mexican grocery, carnecería, and restaurant.The Good: great quality meats (you can even buy and cook at home yourself) and fresh ingredients the whole way. There are also lots of other choices to add to your order (stinks, sauces, etc) since it's connected to a small grocery.The Bad: nothing I can think of that would make me stop going. “I recently discovered this place as it was recommended by my brother. I buy the seasoned paleta or lomo de res and it is delicious! The slices are thin and the texture is perfect.
