“Most Sundays we go and just listen to service. Pastor Matthew is incredible and always delivers a beautiful message. Though we haven't really connected with other families at the church, we still enjoy attending and listening to the messages. I would like to connect more with other members of the community but because it's such a big church, it can be tough to do that. Our kids do love coming here as well. I have recommended this church to several friends.”
“i love this place when one of my parents died i hadn’t gone to church in years and then my grandma had brought me to this church and it really just made me feel peace i know almost everybody there and they are so sweet and amazing people don’t be afraid to tell them if there are any problems i’ve been going there for the passed 10 years love it”

“Attended a funeral at St. Norbert’s and had not been to this church in decades!
It’s a beautiful and calming church! The service was comforting and just so well done for our friend!”
“I felt like I was in the Father's house! It's impossible not to feel God's presence! The choir praising is something that has left its mark on my life!”
“Hello, may i make a suggestion. Can anychurch out there start a rental units place with more studio apartments for 1 to 2 people that is affordable, like 700 to 900 a month?”
“It is a very loving and caring place. People are very nice, respectful. The whole facility is a nice clean place. Great for kids. Pastor and his wife are so caring. I'm very helpful. They have different program. S, that will be very helpful for the community.”
“Saint Joseph Church La Puente
I attend the English morning service every Sunday at 8:00 AM. Father Mathew gives a thoughtful, engaging sermon that sets a peaceful tone for the week. The 8am Mass draws a good crowd and feels welcoming without being crowded.
Highlights
- Sermons: clear, meaningful, and well delivered by Father Mathew
- Attendance: steady and friendly for the 8am Mass
- Children’s Masses: lively and quick to the point, which keeps things interesting
- Length: Mass usually runs about 70 minutes or less and is always spiritually uplifting
A warm, welcoming parish—great for anyone looking for a meaningful Sunday morning service.”
“We recently moved into the area and were looking for not just a church, but a family. We found it here! The congregation opened their arms & hearts and welcomed us with so much love! The worship is amazing, and I appreciate that they welcome different pastors to speak. We've been a part of different small groups due to our changing schedule, and the conversations are always God & bible centered. If you're looking for fellowship, come by and check it out!!”
“I came to California in 2013 and a spiritual mentor said to me “ God repositions His people for His purposes” - Fast forward to 2023, My being at Zoe Center is a real example of that. The commission of Jesus Christ is being worked out with excellence at this church. I am so grateful for this Black,Multicultural Local Church - They love my kids - They see me - I get to be useful and I am blessed every week here. You should come and see what the Lord is doing at Zoe Center”

“This church was amazing. Very traditional music and reverence for the holy sacrifice of the Mass. I love how they actually believe in God and don’t focus on things like contemporary music and the ease with which one can get through the Mass. I have heard other people from Catholic backgrounds talking about how it’s nice to worship, essentially how awesome it is to be Protestant and how their comfort is paramount and how the only thing that matters is their own feelz. They aren’t there for God…only some light dancing and holding hands.”
“Everyone at THE ROCK has been very kind and welcoming. I just want to start by saying you never know who will come into your life and really make a difference. This year has been a year of FAITH AND GROWTH for my family. I was invited to this church by a very young coworker a whole 10yr gap sit between us but god knew I needed this opportunity. My first service was so peaceful and I felt filled with gratitude. Pastor Kimberly is so warm and inviting, makes you feel right at home. The staff that watches over the little ones was also very kind. Amber was so kind and helpful, she took the time to show us around and watched over my little one. This was my husband’s and my first Christian service and worship. The worship is amazing, it’s a feeling you need to experience yourself. I want to thank everyone at THE ROCK for making my family feel welcomed and finding a home church ❤️. Thank you ??”

“Pastor John Riley is inspired by the Holy Spirit! He is relatable transparent and doing and providing God's heart to a community and wherever He is needed locally or overseas. I've been a member over 30 years, erased my children in the church and they are serving the Lord to this day. ???❤️”
“This is a great church. We have been attending for about 9 years. Pastor Mike teaches from the Bible and is very approachable. There are programs for the whole family. There are plenty of community outreach programs like free food on Thursdays. Also free clothes on certain weekends. Everyone has been so nice and inviting. Come check it out in person or online!”
“I feel so sad about the sudden passing away of Fr. Perez, he started this church. But his death did not amount to nothing. It only flourished more the old traditional way of saying Mass. I have been Blessed by meeting good priests here too the likes of which is Fr. Starbuck and others, I have been thankful to God that there’s one like this in Orange County, truly a gem!! Hope to see more faithful flocking here. God bless!”
“God ?will put his anointing on my head to pray for me with peace and joy , healthy, grace, happiness, warm family! Trust in God please because he is around everywhere”

“Great church with a loving community, all are welcomed! With Spanish and English services, the glory of God moves in this place with every visit! The people here make you truly feel welcomed!”
“Good location, great assembly of well intentioned people who sincerely seek the Lord in a good fellowship. While it has some Romanian roots, English is taking over more and more.”
“My brother referred me to this church. First, it changed my life and gave me another opportunity to be a father, son, brother. The ushers are upbeat and so friendly especially Danny Garcia. The Bishop is most likely the best teacher i have ever met. Gods authority and word flow through. The Pastors are also anointed with the spirit of the LORD for sure. If your looking for answers, because life can be difficult. Do not hesitate. Your future self will thank you.”
“The church is under new "management" since the last reviews on this page and is no longer called "La Mirada Christian Church" , it is not just "La Mirada Church" and is now lead by Pastor Joe Barsha... He has taken (along with the help of many loving and caring members) the church from out of the ashes and renewed it :) If you had visited the church before the change over and were disappointed, I highly recommend coming back and giving it another try, as it's no longer the same church as before...”

“Excellent church. Since our first visit, we always felt extremely welcome and were always shown the love of Christ from everybody we encountered. The church is growing, there are young families that are starting to attend with their young children, and the church leadership team is excellent. Would highly recommend to anybody!”
“I used to go to this church 60 years ago when I was a child it was just the small one on the side back then, but the church pool was there. My mother's name was Mary Ellen h a n s e n my father was Marv h a n s e n they're both passed away now. They would have joined in about 1962 my mother taught Bible school for young kids and my father was in the choir sometimes he made some arrangements for the organist. The pastor's name was Pastor enter a tall man with dark hair and dark glasses. And the new pastor was Pastor Paul a young man with light hair I am K Hanson I am 66 now. Unfortunately we moved from Garden Grove in 1968 and later to Houston Texas so we never could come back to visit although I do miss Garden Grove very much.”
“Friendly people. Wonderful praise band! I love the rainbow flags and banners. That means that they are inclusive of all people which is definitely my kind of church. Walking the walk and talking the talk of God's love.”
“It’s a place where the believers meet together to enjoy Christ and express Him as members of His Body, in the reality of the one new man.
All believers in Christ are welcome.”

“Wonderful circular church. Multi race congregation. One is greeted and welcomed during the Sunday Mass. The Holy Mass is celebrated in English and Spanish. On the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month the Holy Mass is celebrated in Indonesian language.”
“I am so grateful I was invited to Freedom House OC! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. It’s well organized from parking to getting seated to the worship and the sermon. This church gets filled every service so my husband and I love to arrive early to get seats in the front! Pastor Josiah does a phenomenal job at delivering the word. He breaks it down in a modern way that I can relate to which has been so helpful and life changing for my husband and I. Families definitely get saved and restored thanks to FreedomHouse OC. My marriage is a testimony! To God be the glory!”
“First off, let it be said that any information about any certain incidents that have occurred in the past are now outdated; they no longer attend the church as far as I’m aware, and the community that is there is certainly welcoming.
How do I know this?
I’ve been attending BUMC since 2013-2014, back when I first lived in Brea; I’ve seen multiple pastors come and go throughout the years, changing per the Methodist conferences that transpire… each and every pastor I’ve met and spoken with allowed me to keep up the faith, of pursuing something better in life.
That pursuit (besides happiness)? The search for a family… a community to lean on when you have nowhere else to go, a family to be a part of, express yourself when times are dark… a place of worship where one can get their start in career and their life.
BUMC will always hold a special place in my heart for all of these things above, as they helped guide me through the pandemic, for providing a place of acceptance for the love of my life, for providing a place of service when I had no other sources of income.
Now, as I move eastward towards new horizons, I can only hope that this church may evolve for the better, perhaps leave behind a legacy in music, in outreach, in spreading the word that God is indeed good.
I wish you all the best, and have a blessed day/week.
