The pastor did a beautiful job of sharing the word of God along with memorializing my friend who passed. It's a large facility with ease of viewing from wherever one sat.I don't know if the people who greeted us were church staff or family and friends of the deceased but all of the people were very friendly and helpful.”

“The church is under new "management" since the last reviews on this page and is no longer called "La Mirada Christian Church" , it is not just "La Mirada Church" and is now lead by Pastor Joe Barsha... He has taken (along with the help of many loving and caring members) the church from out of the ashes and renewed it :) If you had visited the church before the change over and were disappointed, I highly recommend coming back and giving it another try, as it's no longer the same church as before...”

“I used to go to this church 60 years ago when I was a child it was just the small one on the side back then, but the church pool was there. My mother's name was Mary Ellen h a n s e n my father was Marv h a n s e n they're both passed away now. They would have joined in about 1962 my mother taught Bible school for young kids and my father was in the choir sometimes he made some arrangements for the organist. The pastor's name was Pastor enter a tall man with dark hair and dark glasses. And the new pastor was Pastor Paul a young man with light hair I am K Hanson I am 66 now. Unfortunately we moved from Garden Grove in 1968 and later to Houston Texas so we never could come back to visit although I do miss Garden Grove very much.”

“I feel so sad about the sudden passing away of Fr. Perez, he started this church. But his death did not amount to nothing. It only flourished more the old traditional way of saying Mass. I have been Blessed by meeting good priests here too the likes of which is Fr. Starbuck and others, I have been thankful to God that there’s one like this in Orange County, truly a gem!! “This is one of the two churches I visited back in Easter since I am new to the SGV and I have been looking for a new home church, after calling the one in Irvine my home church for close to 4 years.The people are friendly and welcoming. They even have a Young Adults group that I checked out once a few Sundays after my Easter visit.Like every big church, it is a bit of a challenge to make friends and build meaningful connections, but just like everything else in life; you get out of it what you put in. If I lived closer and started attending this church regularly, I am sure I'd be able to build a solid group of friends and to find a home in here.Highly recommended church if you're from the area!”

“I have been attending Birch Street for over a year. I have been in bigger church and I've been in smaller churches. This church is good now and has room to grow. The church has a diverse population and they all seem to enjoy each. I really enjoy the pastoral staff. Friends as a group strive to capture the Book of Acts' quote of Joel's prophecy, where , "your sons and daughters will prophecy," by having both a male and female pastor. They both do an excellent job of preaching from the Bible and they both bring their perspectives to the interpretation of God's word. I look forward to meeting you one day at Birch Street Friends.”

“Dear Yelp users, very above average experience, think of it as an AirBnB over-flow tank, no cost, lots of food from AM/PM, and high-end places like Whole Foods. Positive Foods, and Chavo running away with the 1 liter of milk on his last day, I'm too scared to do that. Basically attending church once a week on Sunday for three sessions guarantees housing for the rest of the week. They have daily requirements like attending church prayer once a day but often work or other responsibilities can hinder that. Rest area is restricted from 6 AM to 6 PM, but TV resting area opens up, basically the bread and butter, the heavenly comfort is 6:30 PM to 6 AM. The guy with the white beard goes real hard on his daily sermons, I'm more protestant, these types of Christians are more liberal. I got on my feet, saved a bunch of money working temp jobs, I could've gotten out in 1 week, but spent a lot, so it took me like 2 or 3 weeks. It shouldn't take more than 3 weeks, but honestly 1 week should have been it. Bobby is a great pseudo-security guard that has a red light on his head, but is unfortunately just a resident that acts tough. They also have real security.
