Nicest people! Plenty of easy parking behind the store. Interior was clean and organized. Quiet hum of voices playing various board games at tables. Craig was a huge help. I know so little about this, but was looking for a specific Christmas gift. I first called, since this item was out of stock in several places. He had what I needed and explained some differences in similar items. Taking my name, he then held those for me, and I just picked them up. Highly recommend!

My nephew loved visiting the Game House and showing off his wings. Then some human kid got in the way of the photo...

Great place to play board and card games together

Zander's is great fun if you and a group of friends or family (in my case) love board games. They have a vast selection of games available to play from classics like Chess and Monopoly to some great complex and unique games like Scythe. They also have some snacks to eat while you game and it's an excellent place to play dnd! They will even help you recruit players for a dnd game and reserve a table for you. There inventory isn't the best when it comes to card games and board games (though they will special order games for you if you request) and their magic the gathering offerings are pathetic compared to their neighbor +EV Games (only a few miles away). Their stock is low and they charge an arm and a leg for basic booster packs (when I went in there they were minimum $7 a pack depending on the set) where +EV Games sells packs for the same price as Amazon and Target. I there for recommend Zander's for all games EXCEPT Magic if your looking to play in Camarillo. They do charge to play in the shop but it's a cheap flat rate without a time limit so it's fair imo.

Since owner's question: the person in charge told us we couldn't move tables to accommodate (most tables were empty) and we were frowned upon when our kids asked questions or picked games to play. I believe we were respectful of the neighboring tables, equipment and games, so this was a bit weird. We did have a good time though!

As a board member of my organization, I come here once a month for our young adult meetup. Jeanne and her family are so accommodating and welcoming. The selection of games is exceptional, to say the least. A better question would be to ask what they don't have. Makes me wish I had a place like this when I was a kid. I definitely look forward to it every month, and enjoy that it gives a fun place for our group to meet. It's heartwarming to see friendships forming as a result. We have plenty of laughs and good fun; all in all it's a great place to be.

Zanders is the small escape from our busy lives, a great place to bring the family for a game night, meet up with friends for D&D, or explore the depth of space with X-wing. Least not forget the Pathfinders and Plainswalkers. Dare you challenge the champion of chess, feast upon the many snacks and beverages. Ney! Not before being greeted by the friendly and charming staff, that will tempt your inner gamer to become the legend of the gaming world.

My first time here was honestly quite pleasant. Great selection of games, dice, and good service to tie it all up.Management is also open to interacting with their clients through the discord; answering questions and just active in the atmosphere of the store. My only qualm is the accomodations. It can be... Challenging to sit on the seating for long periods which, with some of the games being played there, can be a little bit of a turn off.

We came here on a Thursday evening since it was a PTA fundraising event for my daughters' elementary school. We have lived in Camarillo for about 10 years now and finally had a chance to visit Zander's. Overall, it's a great establishment. It's very clean inside and the games are all clean and well maintained. The game selection is so wide, there are games for all ages. There are snacks and beverages that can be purchased inside and they also host different events every night. Stop by if you are in the Old Town area.

Blockbuster for games?! It's the family night my 90s self wanted and needed, but didn't have available! I popped over a few days ago to find a game to buy for my husbands birthday, to my surprise it's not the game shop I had in my mind, it's much better!Traditionally the game shops I've been to are mostly store front, with maybe a few tables around back for D&D or other group games. This is more of an event space to come play games, with a table or two of purchaseable items. BUT, don't let that stop you. If you want game play at home, most of the games in the store are rentable. For $7/game you can bring that game home for 3 nights! It's genius! There is a huge range from preschool age to family games to complex strategy games to all out takes-an-hour-just-to-set-up games. The owners were in the shop when I came and were super helpful and friendly. I'd been here before the pandemic and it was so busy I don't remember who was working or anything, but when I came the other day it was only 2-3 people inside and they were so friendly with every person who came through. This is a really great establishment for families and I can't wait to spend more time here!

Great little FLGS with a huge selection of games to try out and amazing owners and staff! Definitely a gem in the city, and multiple events and meetups mean there’s always people around to have fun with. They have a one-price fee to play any game out of their collection or you can bring your own, and the playing area is nice with plenty of room to spread out those boards.

this afternoon I decided to check out Zander's game, I read on the internet they sold dice and table too games, I am new to dice playing games so going in, I asked the lady at the front, if they sold dice at here, with a sarcastic remark she said "do we sell dice?" and then glanced over at her co worker and said "this guy is in here asking if we sell dice.", now me being out of the scene and environment of table top board games, I felt bullied that I didn't know what I was getting into, she then showed me her dice section, with pride expecting me to be shocked, she then asked what dice I was looking for, I told her I was looking for a 30 sided dice, she then said, oh I don't think I have one of those, we don't carry those. I am bummed cause the act of cockiness I felt undermined. all I was looking for was help and great customer service.
