We highly recommend working with Russell Pate, The Shoe Doctor. In fact, my husband and I made a trip from Honolulu to San Jose to be measured for new custom orthotics. I had an old pair I had been wearing for too many years from when Russell was in Hawaii. I lost track of The Shoe Doctor during COVID but learned through Googling that he is now in California. Not only did we both get measured for new inserts, we also learned that my husband has been wearing shoes that were too short and wide--no wonder his toes didn't feel good in his shoes. I haven't found anyone else who provides the kind of measurement, recommendation for shoes, and education that Russell provides. You'll be so glad with the results you'll get with The Shoe Doctor. I had the most amazing experience with Russel at the Shoe Doctor. After struggling with excruciating foot pain for years and trying various solutions, I was lucky to find Russel. He used highly accurate foot scans and custom molded an insole that completely resolved my foot issues. For the first time in years, I could walk normally without any discomfort!What impressed me the most was Russel's dedication to his customers. Three months later, I encountered a few minor issues with the insole, and without hesitation, Russel saw me right away. He made a few adjustments, and voilà – problem solved! His commitment to cusyomers is truly commendable.I've tried all sorts of insoles, from popular brands like Dr. Scholl's to expensive custom orthotics from podiatrists, but nothing compares to what Russel does. His personalized approach and attention to detail set him apart from the rest. Not only does he provide exceptional products, but he also genuinely cares about his customers' well-being.I cannot recommend Russel enough. Russell is a life saver and is so professional! I'm a makeup artist and my left foot in particular has been hurting for a while and I was putting it off until my Plantar fasciitis was really bad and decided to go see him. He has this 3D foot scan that's high tech and showed exactly all the areas in both feet that I needed help on. So I got my orthotics and I feel like I'm walking on air. We have been patients of The Shoe Doctor for many years. Russell does a great job with his process of mapping your feet and then making an exact mold of these for your shoes. Your feet will flatten with age and arch does drop so in my case I was rolling my right foot a bit when I walked and this was evident in the wear on the heel of the shoe. With the new orthodits this was corrected. You can trust your feet to Russell and the Shoe Doctor.

My husband has had 2 different surgeris to fix his foot problems and he still had major pain and discomfort. When he walked it felt like he always had a rock in his shoe. I was able to convince him to see Russell, the foot doctor. It took a few adjustments, and the patience of the foot Dr!!!!I have to say he is now walking with less pain. Thank You Russell!!!!

Russell performed a comprehensive scan of my feet and provided quality custom orthotics at a reasonable cost. He has very good knowledge of foot anatomy. I had issues with flat feet and pronation which have been alleviated with the new orthotics. So I recommend the Shoe Doctor.

At the end of the day my feet were often achy. Russell's foot assessments showed me why--the weight on my feet was out of balance. I love the custom orthotics I got from Russell (one pair for dressier shoes and one pair for tennis shoes). Now my feet feel good at the end of the day. Thanks Russell!

Russell is amazing. I've been having pain for a long time and had no idea it could be because of my shoes or the way I'm walking. He put pressure in one area of my foot and this instant relief came over me. I wear my inserts everywhere and feel so much better. Russell is the real deal!

Russ really knows his stuff. He is a true master of his craft and beams with enthusiasm for his work. I love that he has the latest and greatest technology for analyzing the foot. Foot orthotics are not easy to get right, but Russ really has it down to a science. I am a chiropractor and have been sending clients to Russ for years and my patients have always had excellent results. I can't sing his praises enough.
