“One of my favorite bookstores in Sacramento! It's tucked away near Mickinely Park but worth checking out. They have a great selection of books and fun events for kids and adults. They also have fun accessories, cards, stickers, and other items that make great gifts. The staff is super friendly, and it's also dog-friendly.”

“I was told about this Catholic store by someone who I'm not sure was Christian or Catholic. So I double checked with the Liturgy Coordinator and Priest/Deacon at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. They said it is a legitimate Catholic store and the Priest/Deacon joked that Easter's is more Catholic than he is. In the past I have always bought directly from Church gift shops so wanted to make sure I was not buying false items. Thank you for your help. They have prayer cards, tons of books, candles, and other items I'm thinking are for Church use. I especially liked the Sacred Heart of Jesus Novena 9 day prayer brochure they gave me. It has helped a lot with what I'm going through currently.”

“Being a Christian, I was looking for a t-shirt that expressed my beliefs and the way that I feel. I found it along with a license plate frame. Happy with both. Lots of Faith associated gifts. Friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommend.”

“A group of friends came in right after me and immediately sat on the couch, talking about how much they love this place and how often they come here- it's clear to see the impact this place has on the community. Extremely sweet and kind staff, gorgeous book shelves/displays, cozy reading environment and a gift shop section (features handmade goods)! I'm a Sacramento native but I can't believe this was my first time coming here. This is without a doubt where I want to put all of my book money from now on :)”

“This is a family owned, Christian bookstore and homeschool resource center. A very friendly atmosphere, the owners are more than willing to help you find what you are looking for. The classes are offered throughout the week for homeschool students. If you need advice on which curriculum is best for your child or lesson plans, Mr. & Mrs. James are available to guide you. Check it out!”

“This is a great community resource, and the inventory of books is huge! Volunteer staff is helpful. Hours are a little limited, but it's well worth a visit, both to donate books and magazines and to purchase.”

“Wonderful selection of curriculum! We visited on a Saturday afternoon and we were the only ones in the store. The attendant was helpful, knowledgable, and was wonderfully sweet to my 6-year-old. We were looking for a supplemental curriculum since our 6-year-old has basically advanced past the yearlong curriculum that was supplied by the charter that we homeschool through. I noticed they have a good selection of homeschool enrichment classes on-site for all ages. They have an approved curriculum sheet for each grade, which was helpful to us. There's also a fun play area in the back of the store with a play kitchen and Lego table. My daughter really enjoyed the experience, and I am happy to know that such a great homeschooling resource is within driving distance of us. The prices are obviously a bit higher than Amazon, as can be expected, but honestly, I would much rather give my money to a small company such as this one with such a great community presence. They do accept charter funds too! Being able to physically go into the store, look around, and receive support from a knowledgeable individual is important, in my eyes, especially for homeschooling parents who may not have a background in teaching.”

“I'm surprised about the rating. I have been going here for on and off 6 years. The campus has grown immensely and a lot of work has gone into building it better. Front office is all remodeled and the resources are all located together. The new parking structure has helped a lot for parking. And now they are building another science center. The campus adapted with the change of Covid. And online classes have changed for the better. The professors had to learn change their way of teaching. I enjoy all my on-line classes. It's more work but definitely more manageable.”

“This is probably one of the most consistently clean and organized bookstores that I have ever visited. Over the years with different changes in management it has always stayed so easy to find the book that I'm looking for. The staff during my visit today were very friendly and super helpful when I was looking for a vague idea of a book to give as a gift for a friend who has a very different interests than I do. LOL. If you're looking for the best Barnes and Noble in Sac, this is it.”

“It has everything you need and then some. This place can get pricey so be prepared to pay $35 for a t-shirt. You'll find good deals like the .50 cent coffee. The staff is always nice so that's a plus.”

“Great local bookstore. Had frequented this Barnes and Nobles a number of times over the years, for everything from personal reads for myself to books signings, to personal reads for my children. Large selection of books in a number of adult, teen and children genres. Most recently I was at B&A for a new book for my son. Thought he might be interested in the Science Fiction novels so we made our way over there first, but he said he was more interested in World History and War. So we looked in that area and he found some books of interest but they were some pretty big reads for his age. And I wanted something more easily graspable for him so I asked one of the employees, what section might be best based on his interest. She told me the "Teen Nonfiction" was probably his best bet, but it wasn't a big selection of books. We ended up going through that section and we ended up finding a book, that I thought he'd be interested in, and would be an good read.”
