“One of my favorite bookstores in Sacramento! It's tucked away near Mickinely Park but worth checking out. They have a great selection of books and fun events for kids and adults. They also have fun accessories, cards, stickers, and other items that make great gifts. The staff is super friendly, and it's also dog-friendly.”

“A nice and quiet shop full of your favorite classics, popular authors, and new releases! There is a $1 cart out front, a retail selection, and a chair here and there, if you want to stay awhile. The staff is friendly, and it's nice and clean inside. I could spend an entire afternoon here whenever I don't have plans.”

“Found a copy of Orion Magazine here, which I've been seeking for months! I was sure I was going to need to buy a subscription. I'm grateful that these kinds of shops are still around”

“It was my first time coming there, and it was an amazing experience. The store have figurines from the latest anime to some of the obscure or classic ones. Most of the figures are at a better price then you usually see online. The person who help me was Thomas. He was super nice, patient and knowledgeable about anime and figurines. And talking to him made coming to the store a blast. If google give more stars I would give this place 6 out 5.”

“A group of friends came in right after me and immediately sat on the couch, talking about how much they love this place and how often they come here- it's clear to see the impact this place has on the community. Extremely sweet and kind staff, gorgeous book shelves/displays, cozy reading environment and a gift shop section (features handmade goods)! I'm a Sacramento native but I can't believe this was my first time coming here. This is without a doubt where I want to put all of my book money from now on :)”

“Sacramento would be so depressing without Beers, my favorite used bookstore here. even though the atmosphere may sometimes feel a bit intimidating / cold, i don't care because the staff are true bookworms-- shy, introverted nerds, humbly & gracefully waiting on you, ready when you are. (note: this is a broad generalization, & i mean it to be a compliment, bc i myself am a huge, usually shy, bookfreak.) i've sold books here several times & though they can be quite selective even with bestsellers in excellent condition (imo), they are ultimately more generous than free & i always take store credit over cash bc they always have a book i want. more insight into how kind & generous Beers staff can be-- my husband & i got our engagement photos done at their old location on S St. they were so kind & let us act like fools, free of charge. highliest recommend, 100/100.”

“Don't miss a chance to visit this charming hole-in-the-wall bookstore on K Street adjacent to The Crest Theater. So many wonderful books to explore as well as a children's book with comfortable bean bag like chairs for kids to sit in. The store also has some unique things other than books, such as tote bag, shirts, stuffed animals, amazing games and puzzles, and other little trinkets. It's so nice to find bookstores still popping up. Nothing is more comforting than flipping through the pages of a wonderful book!”

“This is a great community resource, and the inventory of books is huge! Volunteer staff is helpful. Hours are a little limited, but it's well worth a visit, both to donate books and magazines and to purchase.”

“Their store is very clean and beautiful. I love their little bits of decoration they have. I'm a sucker for romance, so if you're looking for that. This is definitely not the place to go. They have such an amazing collection of classic literature. Their prices are very fair for their location and their service is always amazing. The lady at the counter is a charm. I would check them out if you'd like :)”

“This is your must visit shop for inspiration. Go there to find an injection of creativity for your projects or discover your next passion. Also this is the spot to find the perfect item for your coffee table. Amatoria Fine Art Books has something you were looking for, even if you don't know it yet. It's a one of a kind community treasure you'll return to again and again.”

“Really cute local bookstore in East Sacramento! Staff is friendly and knowledgable. Great selection with books, puzzles, and little stickers or bookmarks. Lots of little places to sit and lounge while shopping. Highly recommend.”

“Mother Goose is currently closed due to a fire in their building (smoke damage) with no estimate on when they will reopen. This is such a bummer as this is our favorite spot for unique children's toys. The owner is so sweet and friendly. I hope the entire complex is up on their feet soon”

“This is the place to be every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. There are tons of vendors selling their goods for fair prices. Food, jewelry, clothing, art, literature and seminars. There also a lot of permanent black owned businesses open 7 days a week at the market place. Anything from legal services, church, clothing stores, counseling, self help work shops, music production and much more.”

“I just moved on campus and I find this place to be beautiful. The groundskeeper is doing a great job with keeping up with maintenence with the lawn, buildings, and leaves falling. Public safety is on site 24/7. You can see their cars parked all over campus. I feel safe when I am here. My professors and classmates are pretty chill and supportive. So far, I feel appreciative to where I am at. I am grateful for this opportunity to be in the Master in Health Care of Social Work. This school deserves a two thumbs up!”

“Stopped by the new place, it's beautiful. I was happy to see the same level of services in a new, easy to access location. The teas and books were both abundant. I was able to get everything I needed!”

“I've found so many gifts and items I've needed. We made the last visit a family affair. They were all able to locate the perfect rosario, statue, books, and more.”

“I'm surprised about the rating. I have been going here for on and off 6 years. The campus has grown immensely and a lot of work has gone into building it better. Front office is all remodeled and the resources are all located together. The new parking structure has helped a lot for parking. And now they are building another science center. The campus adapted with the change of Covid. And online classes have changed for the better. The professors had to learn change their way of teaching. I enjoy all my on-line classes. It's more work but definitely more manageable.”

“Small gift shop but has some very nice items with Sacramento and California on them. Bring your shiny penny and two quarters if you like to have a penny souvenir. They range from shot glasses, mugs, cups, coasters, kitchen towels, stickers, jig saw puzzles, tree ornaments, playing cards, post cards, magnets etc. I recommend book marks! I surely would have purchased that in addition to the other souvenirs I bought. Pam was very nice in helping me on the phone to locate them.”

“Great local bookstore. Had frequented this Barnes and Nobles a number of times over the years, for everything from personal reads for myself to books signings, to personal reads for my children. Large selection of books in a number of adult, teen and children genres. Most recently I was at B&A for a new book for my son. Thought he might be interested in the Science Fiction novels so we made our way over there first, but he said he was more interested in World History and War. So we looked in that area and he found some books of interest but they were some pretty big reads for his age. And I wanted something more easily graspable for him so I asked one of the employees, what section might be best based on his interest. She told me the "Teen Nonfiction" was probably his best bet, but it wasn't a big selection of books. We ended up going through that section and we ended up finding a book, that I thought he'd be interested in, and would be an good read.”

“It has everything you need and then some. This place can get pricey so be prepared to pay $35 for a t-shirt. You'll find good deals like the .50 cent coffee. The staff is always nice so that's a plus.”

“Ordered for curbside and it was fast and easy! I just parked and they came out to me and got my order info! Shortly after I was delivered my items. It wasn't contactless because the guy scrolled my phone to get the order number. Overall, it was a good experience but I can see some issues with having separate workers walking back and forth from the bookstore to each car in the parking lot. It's efficient and convenient for me but not the employees. I'm grateful for the service though!”

“I personally enjoyed buying stuff from here. I highly highly recommend that if you are going to buy books from here that you sign up for the school’s program EOPS to help you throughout the school year with a bunch of things like classes, book assistance, supplies, and more. Other than that picking up the books were easy and confirmation of pick up only took less than a day to a day through email.”
