The Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC) at Chico State is a top-quality, free resource for students that offers a wide range of activities and facilities. The center is consistently clean and well-maintained, with clean locker rooms, a pool, and modern equipment. Staff members are friendly, helpful, and dedicated to keeping the environment welcoming and hygienic. The WREC provides numerous options for fitness and fun, including weights, cardio machines, a climbing wall, bouldering area, and an indoor running track. It also features a large pool with unique offerings like SUP Yoga and Log Rolling, along with various group exercise classes such as spin, dance fitness, yoga, and Pilates. For those interested in team sports, there are basketball courts and intramural leagues, making it easy to stay active and socialize. Additional programs include personal training, aquatics, safety courses, and outdoor adventure outings. The facility's spacious design ensures minimal wait times for equipment, and the staff often assist with spotting lifts. I have spent more time here than any other building in the campus. Miss it so much.

The WREC is a great place to work out. It has a lot of equipment, plenty of space, and a friendly staff. There’s something for everyone like weights, cardio machines, a pool, a climbing wall, and group fitness classes. The gym is clean and well taken care of, and there’s usually no long wait for machines.
