We came to this place thinking all the amenities were going to be open. When we got there we had high expectations to eat and drink and the cafe. That was supposed to be open. But when we checked in we were not advised that it would be closed for the entire time that we were staying. When I asked some of the staff walking around they said that they weren’t sure when the would open. I was very disappointed. The second thing that upset me was that we rented the 6 person bike and the lady in the front said it was too late to rent but she let us rent it for 30 mins but was charged 37 dollars. She gave us a 3 dollar discount for renting it for 30 mins. I feel like it should have been half off. This trip was a disappointment for me and my family. False advertisement. I wasn’t the only one who complained about the cafe being open. Another guest paid for his food online and they took his money but couldn’t get his food because the cafe was closed

Beautiful resort with large, fully furnished RV sites. Washrooms are pristine, pool was really nice. Laundry was reasonably priced -- you need the payrange app to pay for washers&dryers. Staff are great -big shout-out to Joanne at the front desk and Kibb, who maintains the place. The first night we arrived late and the battery died on our tow car. We had to push it into our site after parking our RV. In the morning we discovered we had parked in the wrong site in the dark. Joanne assisted us and said she would get someone from maintenance to give us a battery boost. I called the front desk to follow up and the lady (not Joanne) who answered told me that "no, we don't do that" (provide boosts). Very unhelpful. Kibbs from maintenence arrived a minute later, gave us a boost, and we were able to move to our correct site. WIFI was awful, and given what guest were paying to stay here, I expected better. I read in a review from over a month ago that even the wifi you paid for was equally bad. Sun Outdoors said they would check with their provider, but obviously there's been no improvement. For this reason and the unhelpful woman at the front desk, I took away one star.

Okay, this place is gorgeous for an RV park, the pool is amazing and it has a cafe and bar which are great. Unfortunately, they allow rigs with outdoor televisions and you end up paying $150 a night just to listen to your neighbors sit outside, drink beer, and yell at the television screen. Also quite a bit of freeway noise from I-5 less than a quarter mile away.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Can’t say enough about the staff we encountered. Very family oriented with many amenities. Sites were large, level and included all hook ups. There was also a picnic table and fire pit (propane was extra charge). Some sites included a bbq and small campus refrigerator. Restrooms and showers were very clean and regularly maintained. Food at Cafe was good, but be aware of the hours as they close early on Sunday, open late on Monday and are closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Walking distance to restaurants in town. You can also take the trolley into San Diego. The only downside was the weak Wifi. Will definitely return.

Overall, a very nice RV park. Our only complaint is the wifi. The "Basic" free wifi is glitchy, so we had to consistently log-off and log back on. My daughter had school work, so we decided to pay for the "Premium" wifi. It ended up being even worse that the basic. When we contacted the front desk, we were told it's an outside company we contract with and would need to call them. In short, if you work remote and need consistent/quality access, I would think twice.

We have stayed at the resort for two separate week-long stays in our motorhome. The RV resort is wonderful. The RV sites are wide, level and fully equipped with for full hookup. We use the gym daily and find it well maintained and clean. The resort is easy on/off of I-5 and is only minutes from downtown. This is our go-to place to stay when visiting the San Diego area.Nearby activities: Only 15 minutes away from downtown, or the parks and zoo.Safety: Resort is secure with double gating, and has security patrols 24/7.Food & drinks: The food and bar offer excellent choices and excellent views of the harbor from the upper deck.Noteworthy details: The facility - gym is well equipped and clean. We use it daily.

I am an avid RV’er my wife and I camp on a regular basis, especially in the San Diego area since we live in Southern California. Although this campsite is beautiful, the service at this place is horrible. My most recent experience with this resort and pauline, and their reservation policies to nickel and dime the customer. I had reservations in September, and just a few weeks before my reservation. My mother passed away unexpectedly. I called to cancel my reservation 12 days before my trip so I could go to my mothers funeral. I was told by Pauline there was $100 charge because it was not within two weeks and there was nothing she could do about it. This, of course is not true since I have stayed at dozens of resorts all over Southern California, Arizona and Utah. I moved my reservations out so I can try and make it out there on another date, but due to Pauline‘s attitude over the phone, it has not been sitting well with me. So I called to cancel my reservations completely and ask for a manager to give me a call back. This of course upset and the other person that I was dealing with on the phone who acted inconvenienced an angry. I told her I would probably be writing a review about the resort and she told me to go ahead and do what I got to do. Then she proceeded to hang up on me before confirming that she canceled my reservation.

It was a beautiful RV park. Everybody has their own camping space, with fire pits. There are bathrooms and showers, which are very clean and safe. Also, on the property are bungalows, one and two bedrooms. The pool was nice and big. The kids had a ball, not to mention that there were bike ride parades with the lights. Fun Fun Fun. Nearby, we discovered a trail, and we rode our bicycles.Nearby activities: Bike trails.Food & drinks: A Café on the grounds, and you can order food and drinks.

Absolutely awesome…I stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage everything you need is there besides food … the place is absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. Especially clean …. the front desk accommodated my health issues and let my nurse team come and take care of me while I stayed here. I 1000 percent recommend. If you’re chronically ill and need to go someplace local for a staycation I highly recommend Sun Outdoors. Staff is wonderful !!! I will be back ???

Great place to take your family. We stayed for 6 days, and we stayed in one of their cabins. It was wonderful, from the food to the recreation to the "tiny home." We are already planning our next visit.Rooms: 1 or 2 bedrooms. Sleeps plenty. And clean.Nearby activities: Enough for the kids to do if you want to relax for the day.Safety: Gated community. In good location.Walkability: Everything is in walking distance and easy to get to.Food & drinks: The food was a surprise. Excellent!

If you're looking to relax, swim, bikeride, or just enjoy a good brew and taco Tuesdays, this is the place to go.I have a suggestion for the cottages. The website stated it was fully equipped, and the rules ask renters to clean the outdoor grill after use. We wrongly assumed that cooking instruments would be supplied. We did not bring ours. So please change your website or provide the needed brushes and spatulas. I had to use a knife to turn the tri tip and the nylon spatula to flip burgers. This was a minor inconvenience. The other minor inconvenience was constantly restarting the timer to cook breakfast and lunch. I had to set my alarm to go off every 15 minutes to restart the timer to make beans for homemade cowboy beans.Other than that, we had a great time in our cottage. Our friends had a 44ft 5th wheel. They like their setup.Food & drinks: If you want a good taco, I highly recommend taco Tuesdays. They have a great full service bar.Noteworthy details: The swimming pool is large. If you want, you can do laps in the mornings, before the kids wake up.

My family spent the weekend here in the RV parking and in some of the cottages. I recommend this for anyone looking to take their children out. Very family oriented with tons of events for the kids to participate in. I will be coming back next year!

We love coming here and staying in the cottages. Staff is always friendly. Sometimes it is hard to reach them by phone though. Very clean resort. My only issue is we stayed on a weekend for the first time (usually less crowded during the week) and some jerks would come first thing in the morning and place towels and all their belongings on pool chairs, and then leave the rest of the day, eventually coming back later in the day to claim "their" spot. We witnessed about 10 groups of people doing this. Just think there should be something preventing this, otherwise next time they will come back to their towels on the ground in the splash pad and "their" seats taken.

Beware of Thieves! We booked an elite site and had $15,000 worth of e-bikes stolen. The thieves used a chair from the POOL BAR to lift our bikes over the fence. At check in they do tell you to lock your bikes , we had our bikes locked and they still were stolen. Very scary experience, I would not stay here again.
