“Awesome customer service! The store has a wide variety of unique collectible merchandise. The owner will tell you the history of any of their vintage items in detail. I bought some great 1980s vinyl records. Once again super-friendly customer service!”

“Best lesson for any aspiring sewist!I’m getting back into sewing after over decade hiatus. YouTube can only help so much, I wanted a class, and signed up for a 1:1 lesson to make lounge pants. Claudia is amazing! Her instructions are clear and easy to follow. She is so kind and open. I definitely recommend for any aspiring sewist! Since our lesson, I’ve made 3 more pairs of pants, and am so happy I took a lesson before blindly following a pattern. Claudia’s approach is so much more accessible and easy to follow. Without her tips, I surely would’ve given up!”

“Looooove this place there’s so much to look at I spent 2 hours just looking at everything! The only issue I had was around the last 30 minutes I was in the store I had one of the employees very obviously following me around wherever I went, it was incredibly obvious and I feel like I was being discriminated. It made me really uncomfortable.”

“Trish and her mom Diana were the most lovely ladies to greet & welcome you into their awesome store! I entered their raffle to help Lahaina people effected by the fire, and ended up winning one of the coolest prizes! It was a basket full of Salon Sagrado products! Thanks again, and please go support this awesome shop!”

“Such a cute, little, fashionable boutique! They have both vintage and vintage-inspired clothing and accessories. It was a joy sifting through the vintage clothing as they were clearly well curated items. I had no intention of buying anything, but Michelle was so nice chatting us up, talking about the merchandise, I ended up buying a few items that were on trend and a vintage purse.Great experience overall. I can't wait to go back and check out new items”

“We were moving to another state and called several Estate Companies. They came to our home and told us that we had so much stuff and that what we needed was someone that would buy out all our stuff. They recommendedSteve Mattson's company. It was the best recommendation we ever got. Steve came within a few days, we told him what we were getting rid of, he made us an offer on all of it, which we accepted. The next day his workers showed up and took everything agreed upon. They were so fast, efficient, professional and polite. It was a God send for us. We had more stuff as we sorted our attic and storage and had Steve come back the next week and made an offer as before and his workers showed up the next day and did it again... fast, efficient, professional and polite. It was amazing to see them work. Our neighbor and our realtor have both asked for their name as they saw what was happening. They took everything including a toilet we had on the side of our house. I would give them more stars if I could. Mattson Company was the perfect solution for our needs. Highly recommend them to anyone wanting to clean out houses, apartments or storages. A TEN star company no doubt!!”

“What is it about vintage nostalgia that attracts us? I think our innate curiosity for how humans lived in the generations before us could be part of it. Regardless of the "why" I am often drawn to old-timey things and enjoy imagining who would have worn a particular item or what interesting stories could be told about a small house that has been preserved and on display for people to visit. The Johnson House is just what I'd picture when I think of a space that is preserving a moment in time....along with all the trinkets and accessories to accompany those memories. The first thing I noticed when I walked in the door is the smell-it smells very much like what I'd imagine a proper lady back a hundred plus years ago to smell like...similar to a very old grandma today. Overpowering floral, powder and perfume. (I actually love it and wish I could get away with smelling like that today, but I'm sure people's sensitive noses would not like me much.)Everywhere you look inside the small house is a relic from yesteryear. It's not a place to take small children and it's probably not going to have a souvenir you can purchase that most everyone will appreciate. But, for a very particular person, you may just find the treasure they will love.”

“Great experience here. Cozy vintage corner tucked next to Lestats. I always feel it's a great collection when I browse. The buyers have great taste, the items all have their own sense of attitude and "retro," and the staff is consistently friendly and helpful. They always ask how are you and say hello when you come in.I walked in to buy a birthday card one day, and also grabbed a flyer on the counter about their monthly selling day, which was the following Sunday.I came back with 2 bags of my own clothes on said Sunday I've been meaning to get rid of, some of them already on apps for sale. The experience from check-in, the short waiting time which I enjoyed anyway browsing the store, and the value I got back for the items they picked was all really positive. You are able to choose between 30% cash back or 50% store credit for the value your items will be priced at by La Loupe. I was happy with this because I've been in stores that do a 20% / 40% ratio or even 20% / 30%. I ended up even finding 2 pairs of vintage Levi's jeans that were (finally) in my size, and they were not expensive either. These vintage jeans right now go from anywhere between $50-250 depending on their year, condition, etc and La Loupe's were definitely on the lowest end of that. OK bag em baybee! In addition to a colorful and fun assortment of vintage clothing they also carry new items from local brands: dainty gold jewelry, BAGGU bags, organic / clean beauty products, plant pots, candles, all the cute stuff for gifts from small businesses.Support small, reduce your carbon footprint, shop 2nd hand”

“I just went here for the first time a few weeks ago and it's wild. There is so much to look at and wander through, it's a bit overwhelming to say the least. However, it's a great way to spend a rainy day. If you're looking for something in specific it might be easier to navigate, otherwise I'd recommend just coming for fun to see what hidden treasures you can find.”

“We have been going to Bad Madge for 5 years now and it is one of the best shops in San Diego! If you love vintage you need to check this store out. They have vintage furniture, clothing, glassware, tiki glasses, and plenty of new/vintage inspired items! Fantastic curation going on here and everything is beautifully arranged. We had been eyeing two chairs made by local South Park furniture maker Jose Eguez! These chairs are Caribbean Rosewood and they are perfect! Tanya helped us out with making our decision and delivered them today to our North Park condo. Tanya has impeccable customer service, her team who works at Bad Madge are also kind, welcoming, and helpful. We love these chairs! Cannot wait to have these chairs for years to come. The workmanship on these is so impressive. Before you buy from some mass produced furniture shop online try shopping local and support Bad Madge! The pricing is more than reasonable compared to pottery barn or crate and barrel. The winter South Park walkabout is coming up and let me tell you Christmas at Bad Madge is well worth checking out.”

“A lot to see in this semi-hidden Golden Hill neighborhood shop. A real dynamic selection of 1970s pottery, but also vintage art, wooden boxes, metaphysical accessories, quirky glasswear, jewelry and such. I've been here many times but there is always something different. Mostly handmade and unique things.”

“Amazing dresses and even better customer service. My girlfriend was looking for a 1940’s dress and found the perfect one there at a reasonable price. They have a great selection of quality dresses from all eras!!!! We are definitely coming back soon! We also did not have an issue with the “handling” of the dresses. She was able to try on multiple “fragile” dresses with no issue.”

“It's a consignment shop. Yes, it's definitely over priced, and the store takes 50% of sales.... Better off having a yard sale. They have a TON of beautiful furniture and couches and seats. The positive is there's col stuff to look at.The negative is the price and the 50/50.Still, it's a gorgeous building!!”

“Haven’t been in this Goodwill Store in years. Wandered in yesterday with my mom and found the perfect table to be my writing desk for $25. It is simple black table with sturdy legs and no dings or scratches anywhere. We paid for it and were able to pick it up in the alley entrance. The back room clerk even helped me take the legs off so I could fit it in my car. Can’t wait to get it reassembled and setup for all of my writing of things.”
