“This place is gem! Nestled off Hwy 1, The Magic Toybox is my favorite toy store on the peninsula. Friendly and helpful staff plus the selection is fantastic! Stop by, you won't be disappointed.”
“Stop researching strollers and car seats on the internet. Just come ask Mika - she's so so so helpful! She even walked to our car with us to figure out which car seat fit better.”
“Come here for a quick gift to bring a fancy hipster toy to your next young kids birthday party. Expect to pay high prices, but in return, you get fancy packaging that feels good in your hands, as you marvel at the extra 5 minute effort the clerk spends to wrap your gift and stamp it with custom letters with the name of the recipient. The store is a joy for parents, but honestly like any fancy boutique you get concerned bringing your little ones in tow. This is a high brow gift shop, not Toys R Us.”
“BEST local game store ever! Love everything about the store, the people and the cool stuff!?and you gotta love Sonya! She pays very detailed attentions to all her customers’ opinions, questions, lots of conversations on latest and popularity of various games ? That’s what makes her and her store special ????? Because she cares about her community and people.
I love going there with my husband for selective ? Magic the Gathering pre-releases ? It’s really chill there for me, and I feel safe and home around a diversity of intellectual people that know how to play games so well and fun ? Trust me, you’ll love this place❣️”
“This place is so awesome I needed a mask but they still let me in and my kid played with his electronics alot now not anymore the store and the staff are the best I EVER SEEN!!!!!”

“One of the nicest places in the city! They moved ailes in a different direction, and there are a lot more supplies and items to buy. It is also a great store to get greeting cards and toys and cleaners. Great for families!”
“Cute local place, lots of great candy selection in the bulk bins. Lovely couple running the place, friendly and helpful. Lots of black licorice options and toys.”
“My first time here. They have a great selection. I do think the mega evolution 6 pack booster for over 70 bucks was a bit scalpy but it is what it is. I ended up pulling a mega Gardevoir ex which made things better haha”
“I recently purchased a book from Dolttie Dolittle, and I just have to say how impressed I am with both the product and the customer service. The book arrived beautifully packaged and in perfect condition, showing real care and attention to detail.
A special thank-you to Janeli, who went above and beyond to make sure my order was handled smoothly. She was friendly, professional, and quick to respond to my questions — it’s so rare to find such kind and attentive service these days. You can really tell that customer satisfaction matters to this company.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience shopping with Dolttie Dolittle. I wouldn’t hesitate to order again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for great products and outstanding service. Thank you again, Janeli, for making the experience so pleasant!”

“The Katachi, store is like being in Japan shopping; it really gives you that kind of feeling, the service by the two kind and professional guys who helped me; Hendson Hwang and Sean Campos, they were not only nice but very knowledgeable, so next time when you are in San Francisco go to Japan Town and stop by Katachi, the store is awesome.”

“I was looking for swimwear and a sweater (both from Tea Collection) which were sold out on the company's website. After a google search for the items, I found Fiddlesticks! They have a nice selection of children's clothing as well as plush toys (I ended up buying a few more adorable plush toys from Jellycat). When I received the package today, all items were individually wrapped and there was a sweet note from the owner. Had a lovely experience shopping online. Highly recommended this store.”
“Ying Hobbies & Toys it's the hidden gem you never knew you needed! My wife stumbled upon this treasure while on a quest for Gunpla goodness, and boy, am I glad she did. Tucked away in a cozy spot, Ying Hobbies & Toys might play hard to get at first, but once you lay eyes on its bounty of plastic wonders, you'll be hooked. The store might be small, but it's bursting at the seams with an array of model kits that'll make any Gundam fan's heart skip a beat. Seriously, choosing just one model feels like trying to pick a favorite child - impossible and bound to hurt someone's feelings. But fear not, the guy running the place is pretty helpful. With his guidance, navigating through the sea of model kits becomes a breeze! Oh and the pricing is super fair specially for all the cool stuff you can find. So, if you're a Gundam enthusiast or just someone who appreciates the art of model kits, do yourself a favor and pay Ying Hobbies & Toys a visit. Trust me, it'll quickly become your go-to spot for all things Gunpla. Happy building, fellow plastic yelp warriors!”
“Loved my experience shopping at Aldea, Alfonzo was absolutely AMAZING! Helped me pick a stroller that was perfect for my needs and guided me through everything! As a FTM things can be overwhelming so I appreciate him taking the time to help me!”
“One of the few places I’ve been to that sells the Monster Hunter Figure Builder series. Has a good collection of figures, plushes and other anime/game related merchandise.”
“A very small store for the serious anime- Japanese manga type figurines/ models and other collectables and some lower cost stuff for kids/ collectors on a budget. It's one of the few I know in the general bayarea that specializes in the trade and one the few that offer some of the original Japanese heroes collectable stuffing around SF”
“You can find a bunch of great figurines, board games, etc. They have a variety of brands like Bandai, Good Smile Company, etc. Yup, nendoroids! The best shop in Japantown for figurines and authentic.”

“The Exploratorium Store is the place to get all kinds of generic science-related gifts. Mainly stuff for kids, and some of their inventory you can likely find elsewhere online. A lot of the products are only vaguely related to the Exploratorium and what is displayed in it, there wasn't much Exploratorium branded merch or memorabilia outside of a few shirts and buttons. Would love to see more, honestly. The prices can be high, I remember seeing a pin that was not much bigger than a thumbtack going for $13, but it's an expensive museum so it makes sense that their gift shop is also expensive. Other than that, it's fine quality. My little brother really liked the knee-doh ball he got here. Overall, 4/5.”
“Hands down my new favorite game store!
I’m totally new to Magic: The Gathering, and Paxton was awesome. He took the time to walk me through how the game works, the different mechanics and formats, and how to get started. He even hooked me and my wife up with Spider-Man welcome decks and showed me how to play with them, super chill and kind.
I also grabbed two of my favorite Lorcana character cards (Mufasa and Bagheera). They’ve got a huge selection of single cards (which is rare in SF), plus tons of comics, collectibles, and a super clean, spacious setup for games and events.
I’m a big Final Fantasy XVI fan too, and when I casually (just in passing) mentioned I’d been hunting for a foil Ifrit card from Hidden Legends, Paxton just calmly walked over to some card drawers, and actually found one for me right there on the spot - I couldn’t believe it! I picked up a sweet hidden legends booster pack too (which I could not find anywhere else in city).
Just moved to the Bay in April, and Anime Imports is 100% a spot I’ll be coming back to and frequenting lot. Big thanks to Paxton for being so friendly and knowledgeable.”

“Workers are very kind and helped me and my friend a lot. I bought myself a bape hoodie and was shocked to see it glow in the dark which was unique because I didnt know there was a bape hoodie like that.”
“These guys have such a great vibe, I don't think I've ever felt more welcome in a store in my life, they were cracking a few jokes on the system being down and being funny while actually making a lot of effort to try and help me.
Thank you! You're all awesome!”
