“We are regular customers of Other Avenues - it's just a few blocks away from our home. We've shopped here for 20 years. Early on there were some owner/workers who were really annoying - unfriendly know-it-alls (you might see this in reviews from years ago). But they seem to have moved on about 10 years ago - everyone we've run into the past few years have been wonderfully helpful - and friendly. The entire crew was amazing during the difficult days of the pandemic, as noted in the YouTube video "Other Avenues: Pandemic Thanks!" While we love parklets, the ones in front of that block on Judah do make it difficult to pop in while driving by, so most of our visits are limited to what we can carry home. Parking is tight also because of 2 major construction projects nearby (January 2024). Good selection of items, and their selection of bulk items is the best around. And it feels great to support a cooperative that continues to provide excellent service to the neighborhood since the 1970s.”

I had to look for the store. Information Top Line of Receipt: 09586 001 028624 07/19/22 11:41 a.m. I needed to purchase four/five (4/5) Nutritional Support Items. I informed the GNC Sales Assoicate, my time was extremely limited: I needed his support to "round-up" all my items quickly. It would have taken my two and a half (2 1/2) longer, if I did not receive his "5 STAR CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE SERVICE. Thank you very much. The moment I walked into this Westlake Shopping Center, I was immediately greeted by the male manager (?) or GNC Sales Associate behind the cash register. He portrayed himself as a decent salesperson. I trusted him. Selling is quite a NOBLE PROFESSION to take on. I appreciate AUTHENIC SELLING - "sans manipulation." Just give me the straight facts, as to why, I should take your product advice and professional sales opinion. Several times, I asked for his recommendation, as to which product would be BEST for me to purchase. Because he had EARNED my CUSTOMER TRUST, I believed his recommendation. I must trust sometimes, if it has been earned. I am originally from a North/East state. Where I grew up the PACE was fast and furious. A person credibility and honesty were determined rapidly. They received a NERO'S THUMB'S UP OR DOWN. If my GUT THUMB went down, I removed myself from the situation. It has served me well. Tuesdays are quite a busy day for me, as I must run all my errands between 8:30am to 12:45pm. Unfortunately, I do not have the privilege of having a dedicated SF Parking Spot, so I must do SF STREET PARKING. If I do not get back by a certain time, all the available parking spots will be taken. I have had to at times park over ten (10) blocks from my place. Not fun, when I am dragging in a totally loaded shopping cart. All I can say in closing, is my "5 Star" experience GNC - GENERAL NUTRITION CENTER was excellent. “Maria G deserves six stars. She is very knowledgeable about the products in her store and she's extremely helpful. I am an experienced athlete as well as a person who takes Fitness very seriously. Sometimes it is hard to speak with other people about nutrition supplements, weight gain powders, etc and have somebody understand what I'm talking about. This was not the case with Maria G. Anything I threw at her she knew the ins and outs of the product. This is not to say that I didn't expect this from her as I feel someone in the nutrition industry should have a fair amount of knowledge regarding the nutrition/wellness supplements that they are selling. If there was an option to give somebody more than five stars, then Maria G would definitely be a candidate. I wants even able to discuss personal things everything from macros to the fact that I am currently doing a 12 week anabolic cycle. This was not met with any negative response or any backlash just a professional response claiming that she understands that a lot of people do it and not only would she withhold any helpful information that she may have for me but she would feel better if we discussed it personally and in private so that she felt that she was able to Aid me with as much use full information as possible so that I was taking care of my vital organs to the best that science has to offer. By the time I walked out I saved at least 20 to $30 because of Maria's suggestion to follow the guidelines of a promo that they have going on currently. t This promo was not advertised anywhere in store and yet she felt that it would be in my best interest to save money. A corporation likep GNC and many others specifically tell their employees to upsell products as well as individually sell products so that the company makes more money. This was not the case with Maria, as she did everything she could to ensure that I saved money. This is a quality that I respect and like with employees in the Bay Area - let alone SF - it's dang near impossible to find employees like Maria who are not only helpful but are sensitive toward finances being tight.
